A 32 to 34 inseam is spot on average for people who are 6’2"-6’3". It’s what I wear.
This is what I get for moving to Long Island City.
You didn’t mention that before. Assuming you weren’t forced to move there at gunpoint, you deserve it.
That is what I thought. However, I did stick around the store with a friend who was looking for shirts and while she did that, I looked through the jeans area. Sure enough - they didn’t have a single pair of jeans with a waist size above 32".
This was ages ago, and maybe stores like that carry “fat man’s” pants now, but at the time, they must have felt no need to stock larger sizes. I did make it a point to start looking at people my age on the street after I left the shop (I was in Malmo, Sweden) and noticed that the vast majority of local Swedes could most certainly have shopped in that store with no problems. Damned Swedish gene pool - not only were they all trim and thin and fairly tall, they were gorgeous as well. As my friend suggested, “maybe they kill ugly babies at birth?”
36" inseam female. I am banned from all stores that sell jeans basically. I can get away with some stores’ dress pants if they sell longs, because I wear flats only and you don’t want your dress pants too long - no ragged bottoms, ever. But I need my jeans long, the “long” size floods bad on jeans.
I buy Gap online, the size is “x-long tall.” 36" inseam. I buy the exact same pair of jeans all the time, and pick up a “fresh” pair whenever my current pair(s) wear out/fade too much. The long & lean style. If they stop making them I am not sure what I will do.
I, too find it weird. I am 5’2", so I have to juggle between petite and regulars. Many cheaper petite brands are too short, so I buy regular and have them hemmed, spending an additional $15 per pair of pants. Ann Taylor petite are the perfect length, but cost more. In the end, it’s a wash money wise.
I’m not banned from Old Navy, but I might as well be from LL Bean. I was pleased when I browsed to find a whole slew of size 8 slacks…until I noticed the T next to all of the 8s. Just for giggles I tried one on anyway. They fit pretty well, other than the 3-4" of extra material at the bottom of the leg. I know, I could have bought 'em anyway and hemmed them, but I hate how pants look after they’d been hemmed by a non-professional.
