In the future I will have had a lot of trouble with time travel tenses.
The one time I achieved time travel I didn’t know I’d be returning to the recent past so didn’t make any notes about winning lottery numbers or horse races. I will not have ever made that mistake again.
I remember Janene Garofolo as a modern woman transported back to Revolutionary War days (a sketch on… the old Ben Stiller Show?).
George Washington asks her things like “Well, do we win the battle?” “Are we victorious against the British here?”
“Look, I really wasn’t paying attention that day. Marcie had broken up with her boyfriend and I was concentrating on the notes I was passing her… really, all I remember is you standing up in a boat…”
The sketch was titled “B- History Student, Time Traveler”.
