That’s a great attitude to have when training a puppy/new dog. We’ve taken our newest everywhere, so that she has positive experiences with various settings. Plus, it’s fun.
It is fun! I’ve been taking him to my granddaughter’s soccer games. Boy oh boy is he ever a hit! People come by constantly to pet him and ask questions. My granddaughter is very proud to have him there. After the games, she and all of her friends come running over to gush over fat, little Rigatoni.
You said that Zeb played too rough at times. Nope. You can’t play “too rough” with a Boxer. They are small tanks that absorb roughhousing then come back looking for more. When the pup is grown you’ll probably have to protect Zeb from his play.
Well, Rigs is pretty little now. Zeb puts his mouth over the puppy’s entire head. He never bites down, but if he did I’m guessing he could crush that little skull.
The puppy is not one bit afraid of either of the big boys. If they’re wrestling around, he jumps right in the middle of it. He grabs their tails and hangs on tight or he grabs their faces with his little shark teeth when they’re laying down. He also likes to bite Huck’s legs like a little, annoying gnat.
Lots of entertainment at my house these days.
You lost your mind and have three dogs idly sitting around? Tell them to retrieve it! Dogs are good at retrieving. What do you mean, you have a Dane, a Shepherd and a Boxer, but no Retriever? Hmm… gazing into the future I see the number four pop up… whatever that means. It is still hazy.
Retrieve what?!
And I hope I won’t go over the deep end and get a retriever too. They’re great dogs, but my house is too small for what I have!
Retrieve your mind, I meant… OK, bad joke.
Ohhhhh I get it now.
I think it’s been lost for good. Nothing to retrieve.
And get it back all slobbered on and chewed up? No thanks.
