I have run out of the "Tiffany" stories by Terry Pratchett!!

Hello!!
Any of you fine people Terry Pratchett fans, and have a childish sense of humour?
I’ve run out of the ‘Tiffany’ stories with the Nac Mac Feegles!! And after reading a lot of discworld previously,
Don’t quite find the “Adult” ones quite as funny!! (Apposed the the “young adult” stories!)!!
Preferably ones that are on Audio Books, read by Tony Robinson as they really help when doing mundane housework :’) x

I am in the middle of Wintersmith right now, so I will be sharing your fate before long. I’m reading some of the other Discworld stuff too, but yeah…Tiffany’s my favorite.

This belongs in Care Society I’m sure! I saved the Tiffany books for last because they were aimed at young adults. They were excellent books.

Have you read The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents yet? Not a Tiffany Aching book, but it is more in that vein.

Also, not Discworld, but I don’t think his other SciFi stuff gets enough love - you might like the Bromeliad trilogy (Truckers/Diggers/Wings) …

Dung beetle; I’m sorry to tell you that ‘The Wintersmith’ is brilliant and also ‘I shall wear midnight’, I’m craving more!! Either that or adopt my own “Rob Anybody”, “daft walley” and the rest of the Feegles! I’m currently on Carpe Jugulum as that also contains the Nac Mac Feegles, but it has nothing on The Wee Fee Men or the other three Tifffany stories :(! Think we need Mr Pratchett to write some more!! x

That’s… not going to happen :frowning:

Moved from IMHO to Cafe.

I know! :(… Wishful thinking! Such a great mind! I’ve never read books really, even from being a small child I despised reading… Till around 15years ago I discovered Terry Pratchett!! His humour is such akin to mine :’), silly little things, in all the books!! Xx

Sorry, it was opinions I was asking… Threads lead their own way Ellen Cherry

If you haven’t, read Good Omens by Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Some of the best work by either man.

And the Johnny Maxwell books are great, too, starting with* Only You Can Save Mankind.*

Naah, opinions* about books* go in the Cafe.

Thank you MrDibble, do you happen to know if these books are available in audio addition? X

I’m sorry! I will bare that in mind. New to all this, hope no one takes offence to my ignorance :)! X

There are only 4 books in the Tiffany Aching series now and the last one ended in what I consider a good place for the series to end, though I wouldn’t mind more TA stories. I understand Sir Terry is grooming his daughter to continue Discworld after he’s unable to, so one never knows.

I suggest you might look at *Mort *and *Equal Rites *as well. They are sort of young-adult-ish.

Maybe even Soul Music.

God, I love The Amazing Maurice. So funny, so well written, it’s my favorite Pratchett, and I’ve read all of them.

My favorite “adult” Pratchett is “Small Gods”. Practically every page has quotable excerpts.

She says she has no plans, as she’s not a novelist (she’s primarily a video game writer). She will be caretaking the franchise, but in different media than books.

Another couple of votes for Amazing Maurice and the Bromeliad/Nomes trilogy. Also there’s one-off book Nation about a couple of teens who are shipwrecked on an island, and Dodger which is like the Shakespeare In Love of Charles Dickens. These latter two are not Discworld or even fantasy.

Nation isn’t supernatural, probably, but it does have some fantastic elements:

It takes place on an alternate Earth that had a higly advanced pre-historic civilization in the Pacific Islands.
