I am just a figment of my own imagination. I don’t exist anywhere on the web.
Oh, I’ve got plenty of presence. My last name takes a while to bring up anything that is actually me. Apparently I’m a hot vacation spot in the UK, a a hunky soap star and a new-agey composer.
My first and last name brings up tons of stuff relating to me—lots of old moldy websites I wrote ages ago and have forgotten about, and also my current sites. Also some links to my sites as well.
I have an unusual name, so I was somewhat surprised that Google came up with 2,200 entries.
None of them are me.
My married name is unusual, so there were only a few hits.

My sister-in-law did a family tree dealie and I’m on that.
My maiden name is common, but my first name is not. However, a search of that name points to an actress who played a recurring, yet minor, character on The Wonder Years.
When I did quotation-marks, my maiden name only turned up in a “permutation of possible names”.
My married name turned up three pages, all related to my art and junk on my website.
I share my real life name with a fairly well known music producer so doing a vanity search reveals nothing but page after page of fan sites…to bad they’re not devoted to me
As for my SDMB name, well, it happens to be the name of a molecular shape. Doing a vanity search on it just results in several thousand chemistry pages.
However, as an experiment, I invented a word a few years back when I first started out on the internet. I use it on certain less-important message boards, websites and newsgroups. Interestingly, this word does have an internet presence; I intent to continue to develop it just for experiment’s sake.
I use the short form of my middle name, which, when combined with my last name, is the same as a fairly famous NBA player. I can’t be bothered to slog through the 74,400 hits.
Middle name long form, last name. 3,700 hits, mostly the ball player again (bio sites).
My full name gets nuthin’.
No hits for me on Google either. (Last time I checked)
