I can’t believe how bad this election is going. For as many jokes as I make about the state of the country, and the people we have to choose from, I do love this country and think America has been a major factor in the ‘civilization’ of humanity. But I am truly scared about what the hell is going on. Not only is it assured that the President will not have a mandate from the masses, but whichever way it goes, the other side will have a moral(and possibly legal) claim that their guy should have been president. Looking at the reality of everything it is likely that Gore should have won the electorate, and therefore the presidency. However the way things worked out I believe Bush will win. If some sort of judge decides for a revote and Gore wins, then it scares me that the intent of the constitution will be subverted, and the goverment will decide what ‘we really meant’, and even if its in the name of fairness, that is a dangerous precident.
Either way the new president will be effectively castrated, and not have the support to have the power to do anything. I look around the world and see China coveting Taiwan, Israel and the Arab world comming to a head over failed peace rhetoric, North and South Korea raising repressed agression, and India and Pakistan on the verge of total war. There are a hell of a lot of Megatons in the preceeding countries, and some of them don’t have a whole lot to lose before it doesn’t matter what happens tpo them as long as their enemies die too. There has never been a time when I would have been happier to have a strong president, who the country would rally behind in a time of trouble, and we are gonna have…sigh.
So I have decided that we cannot possibly be this petty and petulant. It can’t be our fault, so it must be the fault of the Illuminati spreading discord and distrust around the world to further their own gains.
