I Heart Gardening (Tomato Photo Question)

I just picked a tomato, and realized that from one angle, it had a nice heart shape. I’m thinking about sending the photo off to a gardening magazine. I took the picture with my dirty, worn gardening glove on because I liked the contrast, and I think gardeners would get the concept I’m going for here - it’s a lot of work, but we love it. What do you think?

And, because this is the Dope, Bonus Cat Picture! My caption for this picture would be, “And another thing - about that kibble we’ve been getting…”

Lovely mato you got there! and lovely kitty!

I like the concept too - gardening only really makes sense if you love doing the work!

Edit: my caption for your kitty pic: I can haz mato?

I like the tomato photo.

The kitties can have all the ‘matoes they want - they just ignore them, though. The moths, on the other hand, are apparently good eatin’.

Those radiation-treated tomatoes can be dangerous. But I see you’re wearing your Christmas gift from Dread Pirate Jimbo, the hazardous-material handling gloves.

I haven’t tried this, but you can upload images to the GardenGate magazine website.

Heh - I do actually get all my gardening gloves from him. Which is good, because I go through a lot of them.

I think I’ll give that a try, Jackmannii.

I like it!

Nice. But from an amateur photographer’s standpoint, if you want a publishable picture, you have to pay some attention to the background. You’ve got the patio blocks cutting across the picture in the upper left and a rather boring lawn behind the tomato. What you really want in the background is your actual garden. Preferably with a bunch of blooming and flowering things.
Failing that, plain green lawn would be a better contrast to the glove and tomato image.

Also, clean or Photoshop that white speck of stuff on the bottom left of the tomato.

I grew Hungarian Heart tomatoes this year. They are delicious and a deep lovely shade of red in the center. Your heart tomato is great…nice photo.

That’s all good advice - I’ll keep it in mind for the next photo. I can’t re-take this one because I ate the subject.
