I hired a receptionist.

This is about as mundane and pointless as I can get, but it is still a development.

I have spent the last few years tied to this desk, and only having something productive to do about 60% of the time.

I now have tied someone else to the desk, and I get to go and be productive in other ways.

Upside, I no longer need to sit in front of this computer 6-8 hours a day.

Downside, I no longer have an excuse to spend 6-8 hours a day in front of this computer.

This will (and has in the last couple days) have a drastic impact on how much time I spend here.

I do still find this engaging enough that I’ll find time to spend here a bit, but my presence will be dramatically decreased.

I do apologize for the convenience.

Do you at least untie the receptionist at the end of the day so they can go home?

Is “reading and posting to the Dope” part of their job description?

Good work, being all productive.
