I just bought a marrow bone -- how do I cook it?

It’s a slice of a beef femur, I think, about an inch and a half tall. I’ve picked marrow out of bones in roasts (leg ot lamb) but never cooked just a bone for marrow. How is it done?

Roast it for about fifteen minutes at around 400 degrees. Scoop it out and spread it on crackers.

If that’s too intense for you, its a fine addition to mashed potatoes: http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes/chuck-hughes/bone-marrow-mash.html

I but some on a biscuit, but mostly just ate it with a small spoon. Thanks for the instructions!

Well, before you can cook it, you have to steal it back from Taffy.
