I just got back from Ireland - and I want to go back.

I loved it. I am happy to get home because I missed my boyfriend and my animals a lot, but I would go back in a heartbeat. We crammed as much into 12 days (we had 2 days in London to start with) as we could. We saw so much - Glendalough, Cobh, Blarney Castle, the absolutely beautiful Dingle Peninsula (and Slea Head) and the Conner Pass, the cliffs of Moher, the Burren, the Aran Islands ( I almost puked on the ferry), a little of Connemara, Cong (where The Quiet Man was filmed), Newgrange, and all points in between.

We spent only a little time in Dublin, I’m sorry I couldn’t meet up with the Dublin Dopers. The Book of Kells was closed for conservation when we were there, (but i got to see the fake Book of Kells) that was the only bummer. We toured the Guinness brewery and drank at the Gravity place on top.

I got a little lost on the way to the Dublin Airport yesterday morning, I don’t know where I was, but it looked a little slummy. At 5 AM, I was a little scared. But I finally stopped at a petrol station and made it. Five airports (Dublin, Gatwick, Heathrow, Reykjavik and Minneapolis) and three flights later I was home. Next time I’m shelling out for the more expensive flights.

Ireland is beautiful, I really had a blast there. I could live there, easily. I took well over a gigabyte of pictures, I’ll make a webpage up soon.

We were in Ireland in January. Absolutely fantastic!

Quite eager to go back.

We were lucky enough to meet up with several of the Dublin Dopers, down a few wonderful pints, see the Book of Kells, several museums and do lots of sightseeing down the South coast.

Hope you get to go back soon and meet some of the Dopers. A great bunch they are

FTR, I wanna live there too!

Amen

Cool that you enjoyed yourselves. I have heard so many good things about people who visit here.

Unfortunatley I have issues regarding this country and, within a few years, hope to have moved elsewhere. But I still appreciate when someone had a great trip and fantastic memories - hope you get back soon :).

Here’s my pictures.

The Irish people were so nice to us, even the folks who were laughing at our driving. :o

Does the name “Ballymun” ring any bells (it’s a hideous government housing estate of hi-rise buildings near the airport)?

Shame you didn’t manage to hook up with us. Another time.
