Thank you very much, earthlink!

Thank you very much, earthlink!
I’ve got Earthlink, and every now and then I get this stuff, too. I just delete it. If it still bothers you, you can always follow the opt-out instructions.
BTW, the Spaminator rocks.
Shoot, Juno does this to us all the time. Every time we Get New Mail, there’s two or three ads in there, some for Juno Premium Internet, some in the form of a Juno monthly newsletter (like we really care  ). All kinds of stuff from them.
It’s a little different with Juno, DDG. They’re an advertiser-supported free ISP. Poor AHunter has to pay for his Earthlink (I assume).
Heh. I was in the computer lab at school yesterday, and I actually saw a girl following a spammers “type REMOVE in the subject line and hit reply” instructions. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that that would mark her for an avalanche of spam, the likes of which have been seen by few people who are still sane enough to talk about it.
Uhm…aren’t you doing them a favor by re-posting this here (with the links intact I might add
)? In effect, you yourself have become a spammer…don’t let them anger you into becoming their unwilling pawn!!! Fight the power!!!
Oh, and Earthlink has called my house on a couple of occasions to ask if I would like to join their service…HELL NO!!! But then, that’s a matter for this thread, and the evil MR2001: Telemarketees…
In my mind, telemarketers and spammers are the same type of dispicable creatures that deserve to rot in the deepest, dankest, lowest bowels of hell and be forced to listen to Anne Murray and watch QVC 24/7 until they claw their eyes out and rip their ears from their heads. Oh, and they can suckle on Bea Arthur’s teats too…
Yes, EarthLink is a pay-for ISP.
Curse you, you’ve got the song in my head now!

Muahaha!
I’ll agree with you about the spammers.
BTW, I’m also an EarthLink customer and I got the same message a few minutes ago.
I also got the email from Earthlink. I get maybe two or three “spams” a month from them, plus the weekly newsletter. (which I don’t mind)
I don’t really consider this spam. Spam is the 50 or so email crap I got per day when I had AOL years back.
As has been mentioned, you can opt out.
I can count on one hand the busy signals and carrier drops I have had with Earthlink in the last 3 years,(I live in Albuquerque) so I am happy. To be fair, I have heard horror stories about Earthlink in other parts of the country.
It does make me wonder about Scientologist control of one of the biggest ISP’s in the country.
I PAY for my Juno Web account. $9.95/month, I admit, but still…I get all the spam the DDG described, plus banner ads. NASTY! And rude.
