I’m just looking for some opinions on it. Sure I could read user reviews, but those are so impersonal.
It seems like a good camera. Give me your take on it.
I have the 7900. I love it. I live the ridge that makes it easier to hold and take a photo with one hand. I love the “close-up” setting. (The others I don’t really use - I just leave it on Auto). I love taking movies and playing them through the TV.
There’s also a waterproof case you can get that’s rated to 200 feet.
I would suggest getting a much larger memory card, though. At the 7.2 MP setting with my 1.1GB memory card I can take 265 pictures.
I’ve got the 5400 and it takes GREAT pictures. Pretty much 100% of the stuff at www.millertwinracing.com was taken with it.
It was kind of hard stepping away from an SLR based system (body plus lenses) but I haven’t regretted it. Especially since doing so almost paid for the $700 5400 all by itself.
(Course, I don’t look at its price now…Last I checked I think it was a $350 camera)
