I just realized a disadvantage of flatscreen monitors.

The current Apple LCD monitors allow keyboards to be stored underneath them, as they have a true “foot” type stand, they work with any computer with a DVI-out

Oh, okay… yeah, I like that on monitors that have that feature, and I’ll degauss monitors at work simply to hear the noise and watch the picture go out of alignment and then reconverge. (I also have fun playing with the monitor adjustment menus, and CRTs have so many more ways to play around…)

I’ve got my two flatscreen monitors on a stand I put together from 3 pieces of pine. Plenty of room to put my keyboard and other crap underneath. In my experience, monitors should be placed with the center at about nose level. Most monitors cant reach that height on a desk where the keyboard is on a comfortable level.
