I ran through the last (season 3) season of Deadwood over the weekend and … ???
Two questions:
What the heck was going on with the side story re the traveling acting troupe that got some major face time, but added very little to the story.
The ending of the show just seemed really “cut off”. There were no-real character resolutions or future histories, or anything. Major events were changing things, but it didn’t feel like an big “end of series” show at all.
Good question. Brian Cox’s character was great, but the rest of them…?
The sets were struck, but since the fire that destroyed most of Deadwood was coming up (it occurred in 1879), they could have set a movie after that.
Most of all, I was looking forward to seeing how the series would portray what happened to Swearengen. How did he end up penniless (Wiki says the Gem brought in an average of $5,000 a night), and how did he die?
