I just won Risk in 6 rounds

What meaningless and trivial thing have you accomplished today?

I play Risk all the time on my iphone during down time (elevator, bathroom, in line, etc.). I haven’t upgraded to the paid app, so this is stuck on the easy mode. But I was given a decent foothold in S. America that I was able to conquer in the first round. The next 4 rounds were spent collecting cards and moving into Africa.

At the end of round 5, I noticed that three of the colors had extended themselves a bit far, and that Red was left with 1 country (and 3 cards). I hadn’t turned any in, so at the start of Round 6, I had to turn my cards in (3, +2 for S. America, +10 for the cards), and was able to march and conquer Red (+15 for the cards). That enabled me to finish off Yellow for his three cards (I had gotten really lucky on the number of cards everyone had left), giving me an additional 20 armies. Then went green (+25), and I finished off Black in no time at all. Hooray for Blue!

Yup - it’s back to work for me…

I, for one, welcome my new Munch overlord.

With the +5 progression rule, that’s definitely possible. Most FTF games play with fewer cards per set, such as no progression at all (or a maximum of +5 per set or such).

Not today, but I once beat my chess computer in 6 moves (a variant of the Fool’s Mate, of course, with some irrelevant window dressing). OK, it was on one of the easiest difficulties, but still.

Well, it goes 4, 6, 8, 10, then +5 after that. But yeah - it gets excessive.

I just beat the web version in five. I’d’ve beat it in four, but I’m pretty buzzed and didn’t notice I was loading up one country with too many armies when I didn’t have a clear march-through. Bah.
