I like Judy Collins slightly better than Sandy Denny, but Collins’ cover of Who Knows Where the time Goes off of her Live at Wolf Trap album is unworthy of either the singer or the song due to its insipidness and complete lack of any aural spark. Granted, it might sound too much like the original to just give it your all a la Whitney Houston, but you have to on that song! Someone tell me her original cover is better.
I like Placido Domingo more, but Pavarotti does “Nessun dorma” better.

I like Led Zeppelin’s music better than most of Jeff Beck’s, but Beck’s version of You Shook Me is better than Zep’s version - and both came out within months of each other on albums that introduced a newer, heavier rock style (Truth and LZ I). And JB is a much better guitarist than Jimmy Page (Page is amazing, but Beck is ridiculous) - but that’s another thread…

Nice choice - I love Social D’s version, too - we’re just starting to cover it in my band…
I like Aerosmith better than Mark Chesnutt, but I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing works so much better as a country song.
