I live in the US, but I don't vote. Never have, never will. Ask Me Anything if you want.

You only think that because he’s your only friend.

i don’t dislike anyone on this forum really. To me this isn’t personal and even insulting people in the pit feels dirty when I partake.

I just don’t take this stuff as life and death seriously as some of you folks. Plus I have real life friends and a cat.

LOL. The cat sells it.

More shameful than not voting is bragging about not voting.

Well, I for one think you were awfully brave to start this thread, on election eve no less! Stupid as fuck, but brave all the same.

Hope you’ve survived the roasting Idle, and maybe in four years you might rethink your position re voting…or at least not post a fucking THREAD celebrating your apathy! You bloody idiot… :D:D

I’ve forgiven you…

I friend request everyone on this board, okay? Don’t think that YOU’RE some special, little snowflake just because I sent you one, which, by the way…is not against the rules. And if you’re too stupid or thick enough to figure out how to hit the “deny request” button, then you have more problems than I cn help you with.

Hah, thank you.

Yeah, I actually have had my opinion changed considerably. I didn’t really expect Trump to win. I will probably start voting from here on.

Wow, amazing, and great! Good for you, and good for America.

Now what you have to do is sift through the smoke and mirrors and get to the critical information to make an informed decision. As a new voter, that isn’t easy. Good luck, and welcome to voting!

Oh and one suggestion: register to be a permanent absentee voter, so you can vote by mail at your leisure. It is so much more convenient. You can still drop your completed ballot at your (really, any) polling place.

…I was gonna get real snarky with you: but I’ve just read the thread where you explained why you friend everybody and…its probably best you don’t post in the pit. Take care man.

Well, nobody did. Now you see the power of apathy/inaction in large numbers.

I’m glad you’re re-evaluating your position. I hope you know, most of us have opinions on lots of topics but we won’t tell you how to vote. We just think it’s important that you do, even if you vote differently than we would have.

Despite us having a few adversarial words exchanged of late, I’m really glad you’re reconsidering your stance on voting. I’m also hoping you get some help for your mental health issues. As someone who has faced a buttload of them as well, finding assistance is the very best gift you can ever give yourself. Pulling for you, man.

Bravo! Good on you for growing as a person (not for voting, but for being humble enough to change your position based on real events).

I haven’t. If all the apathetic ass holes who couldn’t be bothered to get off their precious asses to vote, had voted … the results may have been different. Each and every one of them is personally responsible for the next four years.

Or it may have been even more of a landslide.

I hold the people who didn’t vote more responsible than the people who voted for Trump.

And I hardly call what happened a “landslide”. 1936 was a landslide.

Idle Thoughts, thanks for making me have to move. And to be clear, I mean that sarcastically. How long do you think it will take for Trump to come after the LGBTQ community? Couldn’t be bothered to make a choice? THANKS FOR NOTHING! ----You stupid asshole! Do you think this is the end? I’m moving and will be fine. You won’t have me to fight for your rights when you need me. Of course I would advocate for you if I were here, but I’ll be gone. Good luck with that.

When a person votes they may choose…poorly. But if a person doesn’t vote they will always be wrong. Besides, if you don’t vote for somebody, you don’t have a right to bitch on how things are being run.

I’m sorry. Be safe.

Thank you!

All of the bad things I imagine probably won’t happen. But as Maya Angelou (sp?) said, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them. . .” It has always been my policy to act out of reason. Do what you can, but don’t ignore reality.

It’s just like littering. One sandwich wrapper in a large park has zero effect. But what if everyone littered? One plastic bag in the ocean is nothing — probably won’t even kill a fish. The accumulation of tons of plastic has led to a major ecological crisis.

44% of Americans didn’t vote. Many of them were young people, concerned for the future; a large majority of the young would have voted rationally. Instead, America and the world now weep in grief.
