I love carbs

I just do. Potatoes, oatmeal, wheat thins, toast and bread (toast and bread are very different things). I have to have carbs. I look upon those with those no carb or low carb diets with pity and scorn. Freaks of nature, the lot of you.

Give me granola bars or give me death.

I mostly prefer complex carbohydrates but I’ll sometimes go for simple carbohydrates. In a pinch, I’ll throw caution to the wind and grab a handful of politician carbohydrates which have been scientifically proven to be below even simple.

I have even written a carbohydrate poem, just for you:

Oh Complexeled Carbohydrately
Thy wheatations are to me
as plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee
Slop! I implore thee, my salvatinous fiberdomes
And hooptiously eattile with me, crinkly Atkinswirdles,
or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my cap’ncruncheon
See if I don’t!

I just finished a box of minibits creme wafers while typing this.

Are you waiting for a White Elephant package too?

I love carbs so much I decided to make a living out of them. I’ll probably die a heavily-sugared diabetic death at 50, but dammit, it’ll be worth it.

You can make a living out of carbs? The only person I know who’s done that is the witch who built the gingerbread house. Ooooh, I’d like a gingerbread house. But then she got kicked into an oven which probably isn’t the best way to die.
I can guarantee you one thing though. Sometimes a love for carbs can eliminate some choice occupations. For instance, with all this fiber running through me I’ll never be a drug lord’s mule.

I want a house made out of potato bread. That stuff must be the devil’s own, cause it tastes so good!

I love carbs too. Here in Maryland, though, they’re out of season now. I love them steamed with a bit of beer in the water. And Old Bay. Not that crappy Wye River stuf. Then I pick out the meat and dip it in a little white vinegar with a dash of pepper in it. Man, that’s good eatin’. With enough beer and good timing, you can make the feast last a couple of hours before you’re full.
What, that wasn’t a typo?

Injection is nice, but I’d rather be…
Oh Carbohydrates. Sorry Carry on.

To me carbs=carburetor.
Dad worked for Rochester Products Div. of GM.

The best thing in the world is rice, red beans, and eggs. Scramble them all together, dash of dill, dash of oregano, smothered in ketchup (which really should be its own food group).

I just need a Teflon pan because I’m really sick of cleaning the damn thing every time I make it…which is pretty much every other day.

But, to reitterate, carbs are good. M’kay?

potato bread is so good… i’m a carboholic too… i could eat barrels of stuffing at a time

I also worship at the carbohydrate shrine. I tried that Atkins diet for about 2 weeks and I thought I was going to die. It sucked all of the joy right out of my life!

Potatoes, rice, bread, toast, crackers, mmmm mmmm mmmm!

Carbs, Carbs, Carbs, Carbs,
Lovely carbs! Wonderful carbs!

I’d like the Carbs, Eggs, Carbs, Carbs, and Carbs, please.

Salt & grease definite plusses - but I can do without in a pinch.

Somewhat related (tho on the sweet side) - I just got some starter for Amish Friendship Bread in a ziploc bag

Recipe goes something like this:

Day 1 - let it sit
Days 2-5 - Squeeze the bag.
Day 6 - add 2 C flour, 1 C sugar & 1 C milk - squeeze bag.
Day 7-9 - squeeze bag & let air out.

Day 10 - Scrape into large bowl. Add 1 c flour, 1 c sugar, 1 c milk. Measure out 4 separate cups of starter - put in large Ziploc bag & give to friends.

To remaining starter, add 1 c oil, 3 eggs, 1/2 c milk 1 tsp vanilla & stir. Add 2 c flour, 1 c sugar, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder, 2 tsp cinnamon & 1 box (5.1 oz) of instant vanilla pudding. Add nuts &/or dried fruit if desired.

Grease 2 loaf pans or 1 rectangular cake pan (size?) & coat with sugar. Pour in batter & bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees.

I got a small piece of the finished cake - VERY rich & spicy!

So - anyone with a sourdough starter want to trade?

With recent developments, especially the extra butterfly valve that Suzuki uses on the GSXR1000 superbike, injection is now as good as carbs at low revs without the characteristic snatchiness that most such systems exhibit.
