I know. I stared at it on the menu, thinking: Do I dare? It sounds odd, and it could be awful. But then again, they wouldn’t put it on there if it was like sucking on a giraffe tail, would they?
So I took the plunge. I’m glad I did.

If any of you are in or come near the Niagara wine region, I urge you to stop at the Henry of Pelham winery. They have some fantastic wines (their 2002 Rosé was particularly amazing, I hope the 2003 is too!) and they have a small café and cheese shop. You can order a cheese platter with a selection of fine canadian cheeses to have alongside a sample of their wines (Québec cheeses are actually hurting the French cheese import trade - they are THAT good).
Last summer, my mother and aunt came to visit us and we bought 70$ worth of cheese from this place, and had supper with cheese, wine, bread, and fruit. It was amazing.
For those of you who like the blue and stinkies (I am not one of those people!) may I recommend Dragon’s Breath. It’s probably the most repulisve looking and smelling cheese every created, but those who love these types of cheese tend to love it in all it’s greyness and runniness.
MY favouite cheese? A nice St. Paulin. Can’t go wrong with that!
