I Love the 90's?

But see he was in a hair metal band… so seeing as how it killed his genre and chances at paychecks… he wouldn’t be too thrilled. Not that Twisted Sister was getting a lot of action in 1990 anyway.

Ask and ye shall recieve:

I Love the 90’s cd

They also have an 80’s and 70’s cd too.

For some reason, I find this show to be really irritating. I felt like I had bugs crawling up my back the whole time.

I also had a revelation: The 90s sucked ass. As they were going through various items, I realized that not one thing had any socially redeeming value. Dances with Wolves? WTF? Ghost? Can any one decade be any more lame?

I really wish they’d do I Love the 60s. Although I probably wouldn’t know half of the stuff they are talking about, bits on Bewitched, Jefferson Airplane, and Nehru jackets would be really groovy.

What? I thought he said that while he hated that they killed hair bands, he admitted that Kurt Cobain and co were quite talented.

I can’t believe they left out “Beavis and Butthead”, but mentioned “Quantum Leap.” WTF? I was looking forward to seeing everyone going, “Hehehehe…ehehehe…yeah…ehehehehe…you said ‘hard.’”

And no mention of Terminator 2: Judgment Day?

And I seriously miss Donal Logue. Dominic Monaghan almost makes up for his absense.

I hope they rerun it so I can see it. Being 25 you can imagine how much I love the 90’s. Although I agree that 1999 is a bit too close to now to be something to be nostalgic for, not just time wise but culture wise too…I just don’t see too much in the way of pop culture being different between then and now.

But I’m dying to see the 1997 show. That’s the year I graduated high school and for some strange reason its a black hole in my mind as far as what songs were big then. I can never remember any, yet I can name you hits from every other year of that decade in a heartbeat.

(I really want to see the shows on 1991 and 1992 because of the music, and 1995 because that was my favorite year.)

That is what he said.

I’m liking this show, although it is reminding me of all of the really horrible things that were supposed to be “cool” in the 90s.

I’m surprised they haven’t mentioned the movies Home Alone (1990) and Batman Forever (1995) (or Batman Returns (1992) for that matter). I thought they were pretty major movies, especially Home Alone.

I’m glad they mentioned Silence of the Lambs, although I don’t see how they couldn’t have (I suppose in the same way they missed Home Alone…). Hal Sparks does a good voice of Buffalo Bill.

“I’m scary Clarice!”

No need to worry there. They’ve shown all the previous episodes in sequence before the two new ones each night this week. You should be able to watch all ten on Friday. And probably Saturdays and Sundays ad nauseum until the end of the summer.

I really wish they would switch up commercials for us regular watchers. I am so sick of the Toyota Scion tC, Snapple, the Big Kahuna Summer, Hagen-Daaz, etc.

$10 says they’re saving this stuff for the “I Love the 90s, Strikes Back”.

This is the I Love the 90s soundtrack.

The first seven tracks are good, but the others (especially #8 and 9) suck. Which means they ain’t getting my money!

I feel nostalgic about the 90’s all the time. Not because they were cool. They were as far from cool as you can get. But, I graduated from HS in '98. I was young and mostly carefree for the majority of the 90’s. I miss that now. When I’m spending 9 hours sitting at a desk, going home to clean and pay bills and worrying about my credit rating, I get very nostalgic for the 90’s.

I think the best part of this particular “I love the…” show is the fact that it’s hard to talk about the 90’s without making fun of them. For the 70’s and 80’s shows, most of the commentators seemed to actually have fond memories of the decade. Now the majority of them are just making fun of it. It’s good for a laugh if nothing else.

Anybody seen VH1’s illustrated?

There was a skit in there about VH1’s latest: “I Love 5 Seconds Ago”.

Damn, Jaleel White is HOT.

They’ll have to mention Titanic in '97. And yes, I like Titanic. Yes, EVEN that song.

I’m looking forward to '99, and The Phantom Menace, even if they will make Jar Jar jokes. Just as long as we get to see Ewan McGregor, I’m happy.
And WHY was Kurt Cobain’s death not mentioned? My god, for my generation, that was like the day John Lennon was shot.
