I Love The Futurama Theme, So I Should Buy ...

Kinda says it all, doesn’t it?

OK, the long story: My wife and I love the show’s theme music, with its electronic boops and beeps mixed with a strong rhythm and unexpected surprises.

But I have a problem. She wants to hear more music like it, and I don’t know enough about electronica/industrial. I tried some early Kraftwerk on her like “Trans-European Express,” and that didn’t do the trick. A little too repetitive and simple. She’s digging the Devo 2-CD set “Pioneers Who Got Scalped” and I’ll spring Yello’s “Flag” on her, but I need suggestions and advice.

Any ideas?

The composer for the Futurama theme is Christopher Tyng.

The theme music is very, very similar (inspired by, perhaps) to a track called “Psyche Rock” by a chap called Pierre Henry. I’ve seen it labelled as a Fatboy Slim remix and also as a joint effort with Michel Colombier. iTunes Music Store UK has it listed, so the US store might as well.

A DVD of the show?
