I love the north exit to the Century City Mall!

Every Sunday I go grocery shopping at the Gelsons at the Century City Mall. And I always try to leave the parking garage from the north side. You see, last year they rebuilt Santa Monica Boulevard from Beverly Hills to the 405. They merged Big and Little Santa Monica into a single split-level street. So now, when you leave the mall and turn left on Santa Monica, you drive up a little curved ramp to get to the higher side of the street. Swoop! It’s like taking off! It’s one of the high points of my week, making that little turn and driving up that ramp!

What little traffic gems do you love? Not big things, like driving across the Golden Gate bridge or anything, but little moments of roadway magic.

On Queen Street East in Toronto, where Kingston Road branches off, there is a left-turn lane for streetcars.

The eastbound track splits into two before the lights and the intersection, and one track goes straight, and the other track turns and crosses the westbound lanes of the road, including the westbound track.

The 110 northbound out of downtown LA toward Pasadena. The curves, taken in a good car, are breathtaking. This of course means driving it at 2 in the morning when there’s no construction going on, but those three days a year – awesome!
