I made Canadian butter tarts yesterday

No. No drunken poutine mange-in’ while nursing the baby.

That is the only place I’ll ever get them. good thing I live close to the market!

See I’m more of a Killaloe Sunrise kind of guy. Sugar, lemon and cinnamon mixed generously with -30 temperatures and shake.

Next Dopefest, next Dopefest… scribbling all these delicacies down

Oh, and butter tarts are a piece of heaven in a pastry, and Nanaimo bars are food for the gods.

And here’s the recipe for
tarte au sucre (just substitute brown sugar for the maple sugar). For those who are just curious about this pie, think pecan pie, hold the pecans. If you want to try maple syrup pie (or farlouche), here are the ingredients and the recipe :
1 cup of maple syrup
3 cups of cold water
1 cup of brown sugar
8 teaspoon of corn starch
nutmeg to taste
an orange zest
Mix the maple syrup, water and brown sugar. Boil fast. Dissolve the corn starch in a bit of cold water. Thicken while constantly stirring. Let it simmer a few more minutes. Remove from heat. Let it cool down while stirring. Pour in a pre-cooked pie crust. You can replace the maple syrup with molasse.

haardvark, Ginger was saying that they substitute Mozzarella to cheese curds. Yeah, I know, a poor man’s poutine.

I wonder how many we could get for another OttaDope…

Make it on a loooong weekend, and we might be able to do it. Only, it’s got to be warm, or my poor 'Merkin husband will perish. Canmore in the winter, he could handle, but I don’t think he’d survive the Ottawa Valley.

No skating on the canal then… Maybe for the Tulip festival or Bluesfest?

Oh, I know. I know. And it tears me up on the inside.

Don’t cry for me. Send me curds.

The truth is, they’ve never left you.

Good Lloyd-Weber.

Less paperwork if you get someone from Wiscaaaaaaaansin to send them to you.

Obviously, he’s not got a thick enough internal layer of blubber.

You need to feed him more butter tarts.

I was thinking, if you’ve got any Amish nearby, they might have some nice curds. Now, I think that was one of the weirdest sentences I’ve ever typed.

I would, but he doesn’t like them. More proof he is wrong and bad.

You know, we have. Less than an hour away, too. I wonder if they’d sell them at the ‘Amish’ market in town.

But does he like poutine?

How about golden corn syrup?

Maple sugar candies?

Big Rock?

Moose stew?

Ptarmigan kebabs?

Humpty Dumpty Party Mix?

Poutine, Moose, and Big Rock. And that’s all.

Well, that’s the big three, really. Plus, he keeps his hands off your snack food.
