I may have saved a life yesterday

I was taking a taxi home once, and as we turned on to my street, I saw someone lying on the ground, right on the curb, plain as day on a not-very wide suburban street. The taxi driver didn’t see anything until I pointed the person out to them. Lots of people miss some very obvious things that are right in front of them, if they’re focussed on something else.

In this case, I was also coming home from the pub, and so was a little bit drunk, too, so it’s even worse that I saw it, and the driver didn’t.

I don’t think you should stress too much about what other people did or did not do - that’s outside of your control. The important thing is what you did. You did good.

I guess what’s bothering me is I almost cut the ride short and I would never have gone past him.
