I miss Buffy...

Despite the dissapointing last season I still can’t believe that it’s not coming back. Of course it doesn’t help that I watched every episode in a 4 month period by downloading them…I know, pathetic. I’m going though serious withdrawl here and I know a couple people at work who are going through the same, so it must be a widespread problem amongst the fans. Discuss the sorrow…

I miss it too. Fortunately, I have fanfic, videos, and I’m transferring my obsession to Angel. Also, JM did a lot of appearances this summer, and somehow, that took the edge off.

Maybe one day, my obsession will end. At this point, I’m looking forward to that day. Oh, and on a happy note, JM and DB will be gracing the cover of TV Guide next week, with the most swoon-worthy picture ever. sigh

I was just sitting at home the other night, and it being repeat season still, half watching the tv, half doing somethign else. the announcer made a comment about a buffy episode coming on tuesday night. My ears perked up, and I got a bit excited, but then realized it was a repeat. was so bummed. I only hope that Angel makes up for the loss. at least we will ahve spike on there  but I will be missing my weekly dose of Buffy. at least I have my DVD collection to keep me busy.
yours in sorrow,
TAZ

On the bright side Angel is starting again pretty soon. I miss Buffy too. I am planning on buying most of the Buffy episodes on DVD. On a sidenote Rythefly, where can you download Buffy episodes?

I agree. I’m not holding my breath for the next season of Angel to be a good substitute. Joss has said thet they’re going away from the season-long arc and doing a more episodic show next year. I read that as ‘Monster of The Week’, which is boring tv, IMO.

I’m currently undergoing withdrawal from Babylon5, which I discovered way to late. I’ve just spent the last month seeing all five seasons.

Hopefully, JW is planning something else, so we can’t get a weekly dosis of tv goodness. Fans of Firefly are rejoicing at the prospect of a movie, but I want more. A movie is typically 90-120 minutes. Buffy was entertaining for almost all of the 6048 minutes it ran.

And that’s the bottom line - that subject is a no-no on this board.

And that’s the bottom line…you can download them from good old Kazaa…though of course I prefer Kazaa lite. I downloaded every single one and (sniffle) am a better person because of it.

Ooooh… That’s gonna hurt.

Discussion of file-sharing is inappropriate on this board, not to mention illegal.

As to the OP, I fully agree. (Well, I didn’t find the last season “disappointing,” although it tended to drag a bit in the third quarter – the finale was great, though.) I just got some of the Buffy DVD’s for my birthday this weekend and I found watching them bittersweet – as enjoayable as it was, it just reminded me that I’d never see a new episode of Buffy again. Of course, I’ve got 3 seasons of Angel I’ve not yet seen, so there’s that silver lining.

I know Cliffy, I figured that out after I posted…I narced on myself to the moderator, so hopefully he’ll do something about it.

I should make my point clear about the last season. Although it was dissapointing, I can’t say that it was really BAD. I thought season 5, for instance, was much worse (except for the finale)…

And I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Season 6 was brilliant. My favorite season of all!

I wouldn’t mind Buffy being gone so much if the coming TV season didn’t seem to be such a wasteland. Sure, there’s Angel, but no Buffy, no Futurama, no FireFly, and no new shows that have even slightly piqued my interest. I may have to develop a social life this Fall…

I miss all the hot babes from the show, Buffy, Faith, Willow, Tera, Anya.
Not many shows have hot chics like that.

Well maybe BIRDS OF PREY but they cancelled that shit long ago

Tell me about it. I am only looking forward to Angel and Smallville and hoping that Enterprise picks up with its “new direction”.

And the gods of TV are laughing at me now since all these shows are on Wednesday night.

I’ll watch Angel while reading the Buffy novels and trade paperbacks.

I still have to get season 4 on DVD, and then wait for season 5. I’ll get s6 even though I hate it, and s7 just to finish up the set.

and I have my ALIAS which will keep me more than entertained. I’m also planning on starting to watch Carnivale on HBO…and other than that I’m not sure what I’ll be watching this season.

Those with serious cravings can get up to S.6 on DVD from Amazon.co.uk or Blackstar.co.uk. S.7 should be out around Christmas.

I to only have Angel to look forward to this up-coming season.

I am not even going to try to get into that new Faith Dushku show Tru Calling. It is going to be lucky if it hasn’t been cancelled before Christmas. It is on FOX for gosh sakes. Maybe it’s mid-season replacement will be interesting… after-all Buffy itself was a mid-season replacement for Savannah (God, I love the usless trivia**.

But, back on topic, I started missing Buffy the minute it was cancelled. I want more! Heck, I want me Xander/Andrew fantasies to come true! :stuck_out_tongue:

I figure I’ll give “Tru Calling” two episodes 'cuz I think Eliza Dushku’s a good actress. (She was, for instance, completely believeable as Buffy during the body-swap episode. In fact, she did such a good job that in my head when I think about that episode it’s SMG asking “What’s a steveodore?”.)

I got my TV Guide today.

Boys so pretty. sigh

I too am missing Buffy. I have a lot of Angel to catch up on, unfortunately it’ll be a while until S3 is out on DVD. I’m not sure another show will ever be able to replace Buffy…but at least we’ll have our DVDs.
