Yeah Canada won, a scary win but still a win. At least it feeds my hockey fix!
I’m trying not to think about it too much. We’ve got $1800 tied up in our season tickets. At least it’s earning 5% interest while it sits there.
$1,800 for season tickets? Is that like $900 a seat? That will get you 8 games in the worst seats available in Toronto.
The only time I’ve ever seen the Leafs live was when I sang the anthem. WAY too fuckin’ expensive.
The Blue Jays, on the other hand, are quite a good deal. I’ve had quite decent seats for $15. apiece.
It’s the Cane’s 26 game mini plan that comes with vouchers for 3 additional games, so it’s really a 29 game plan. Our seats are 3rd level, center ice, about $31 per seat per game (and they aren’t even the cheapest). I think each seat was $910. I am fully aware how lucky we are to have affordable ticket plans. There are certainly more expensive seats to be had, but we like our view very much. There are tickets available for every game for $9.99 a seat. Our arena’s low ticket prices and proximity to the airport make it so for some games there are as many visitors in the stands as home fans, especially Canadians. You should come and visit sometime when everybody gets their heads out of their asses and we have hockey again.
Like next October, possibly not even then, by the sounds of it.
NHL Network is broadcasting it
mine are the ultra cheap seats $1710 for 2 plus a parking pass(Sec 331).
Leaffan, there will be AHL hockey at the Castle in January anyways. And I have a date for the game.
Canadian Juniors versus US Juniors in 5.5 hours baby! Go Canada!
Well, it looks like we will at least get some NHL hockey this year.
The players still have to vote on the deal but I can’t see them turning it down.
Why can’t the same be said of the players? Some of them might actually play because well, they love hockey?
Read up on the origins of the NHLPA and why it was founded the first place.
My point is it’s not just the players and it’s not just the owners – both sides have issues. Some legit, some not.
Yep. We’re back again.
In Canada it will be business as usual. I imagine there might be some opening night booing directed at players and owners all around, but the fans will be back as usual; it’s too important to our national identity.
I am worried about the Phoenixes and the Columbuses of the league though.
Anyway, here we go. Sounds like a 48 game season. The Leafs might not have time to collapse this year, and might make the playoffs. At least that’s what I’m telling myself.
I honestly expect that in addition to being booed, Gary Bettman will have things thrown at him if he appears at a game. And I’m not talking hats.
He can be grateful Jarts were banned a few years ago.
One Jart. Ah Ah Ah.
Two Jarts. Ah Ah Ah.
Three Jarts. Ah Ah Ah…
