At one job, someone received one of those emails containing a virus in an attachment, and forwarded the entire message (virus intact) to the entire company, as a warning. (I.e., “Don’t open such messages.”)
Any such popup results in a Task Manager summoning if I’m at the machine. I always assume they’re malicious.
This one isn’t really a horror story, but it’s amusing.
I used to work at a place that required me to have a security clearance. My mom’s ISP flagged some message that appeared to have come from me as possibly containing a virus. My mom said, “She couldn’t have sent me a virus, she has a security clearance!”
My favorite (which, c’mon, doesn’t everyone do this once??)

Directly after which, not realizing what you’ve done, you go out to smoke. Upon returning ~10 minutes later you wonder why it’s still running…
