I need help picking a topic for a Computer System Archetecture class. Suggestions?

I am a EE in a senior level undergrad comp sys arch design class. We have to write a 10 page research paper on something related to the subject matter. The thing is I totally hate digital design and digital logic with a passion. I live for analog design and high voltage power work.

I am having a heck of a time coming up with a topic for this paper. I need to pump out 10 pages of info on a topic I care very little about.

Does anyone have any suggestions on some topics I might be able to piece together 10 pages of BS on? The class is register level design. We aren’t going down to gate lvl on anything except the interconencts between mux’s and registers.

I hate to say it, but I am looking for ease here, not depth. I have enough other design classes that I don’t have the time, nor the energy to do alot of deep research for this class.

Help?

This thread is better suited for IMHO. I’ll move it for you.

It’s spelled “Architecture”. That’s a good start.

StG

Parallel processor design is always a good choice. There should be more than enough information out there for you to fill up ten pages.

Asynchronous (clock-less) computers are always fun.

Good suggestions, but there are guys already doing those topics. Im stuck I guess.

Talk to your professor for ideas. If you like math, you could study the use of control theory for digital design.
