Hello, I am currently attempting work on a fiction piece. I was hoping someone would do dialogs with me. I am looking for a real, second person response to include and take in to consideration while writing. I’m hoping for someone with a decent vocabulary, who may be a deep thinker, who may be creative and can go with the flow of whichever way this project goes. I don’t have much to go on about my “story” yet, but I hope someone will give me a shot and help me out. If anyone is interested, I can give you more details, and you can decide if you want to help or not. Thanks!!!
PM me; we’ll talk. I’ll try to help. I’ll give you my bona fides and credentials offline. I’ll just say, yes, I have been published. I’m in a number of writing groups.
And… Dialogue is, apparently, very hard for most writers. I know a lot of people who absolutely sweat in agony over it. One problem is that modern literary dialogue isn’t exactly the way real people talk…but it is meant to evoke the sense of how real people talk.
Real people talk in jumpy sentence fragments, highly elliptical, with lots of quirky seques. Very sloppy. Dialogue in literature has to be much more formal. But it can’t be so formal that the reader stops believing in it! We’ll swallow half a whale, but damned if we’ll swallow the whole entire whale! So, searching for that balance point can be mighty, mighty tough.
If I can help, I’ll be glad to try.
