swampbear, she is indeed staying here for the balance of the summer. Apparently Baltimore was too boring. That and “the boy” wasn’t there. So she’s got to find a job here. But she also said she’d go to Ocala occasionally to help out her grandparents. She can run errands or stay with her grandpa while Grandma does her errands.
Zenster - we’ve already got him a project to keep him occupied. He’s gonna build an airplane! :eek: Actually, it’s a radio controlled model that my husband had built some years back. The elevator control came disconnected in flight and the plane kinda sorta crashed. We’ve kept the pieces around all this time, so it’ll make a great project for FIL.
I have to say, I marvel at what a difference it made to me to have all of you here for moral support (or immoral, depending upon the Doper…) Who’da thunk that people who I know as a name on a screen could make such a difference in a trying time.

Wow, FCM, what a scary time for you. I’m glad everything went well. My grandmother had quadruple bypass surgury a few years ago, so I know what you were going through.
I’m sorry I missed this thread earlier and didn’t get to give pre-surgery best wishes to you, so you get “double extra special get well quickly and easily wishes instead.”
One last update, then I’ll let this drift away.
Today, less than 24 hours after surgery, my FIL was up and walking around. He was able to go from his room to the lounge to sit and visit with his family (except for me, since I was in Jax) How amazing is that? Yesterday, he had a machine pumping his blood while a team fixed his heart, and today, he was up and about. Medical science is truly wonderful.
Dang, that’s a relief.
