I just installed a new mailbox yesterday (my neighbor’s daughter sideswiped the last one) and decided this afternoon I would paint new numbers on it.
Big mistake. It looks baaaad. Closing my eyes would have improved the situation… Next time, I’ll just use a sharpie. I could blame it on being tired (I’ve been stacking firewood all day) but the truth is I can’t paint. Sure, I can do a great job at painting a room, or a house, or a tractor - but I can’t really use a spray gun ora roller to paint numbers on my mailbox. Though again, I think it would have come out better if I had.
I’m sure I’ll get ordered to remove the offending paint job and use stick on numbers.
:smack:
Use your printer to print out the numbers in like a 72 pt. font, cut out the actual letters, and use the empty spaces as a stencil. Tape it on to your mailbox and carefully paint them on using (preferably) a sponge brush or just trace the letters using a pencil, remove your stencil and color them in. Make sure to stay within the lines!
Why yes, yes they would I’ll take a pic this am and upload my shame later.
If I used a stencil, the paint would run. I didn’t want the funny looking zero that you get from the stencil kit. My neighbors either used stickers or painted the numbers on - both look much better than my epileptic painting.
BTW, I got some good actions shots at Pat’s the other day. I also am trying to take some pics of a woodlot - but the town is ditching the road and their trucks are in my way - grr.
Swell, I’m happy for you - but I’m not interested in hanging my pics. I was already asked and declined. I really don’t want people doting over my photography, thanks.
