Get kicked northwards, sweetie.
I was planning something of the sort. Just don’t know quite how far.
Ah, well, Albany is too far. Much as I’d like to have you here, trust me on this.
Heh, it’s funny, even though i have a pet Bamboo Shrimp in each of my freshwater aquariums (they’re about 3" long, perfect eatin’ size) i have no problem eating shrimp, i love 'em, still, i can’t really associate my cute-yet-creepy looking little filter-feeding freinds with the delicious seafood items sold in stores…
it’s even stranger when i feed the Bamboos shrimp pellets, (normally they filter out particles from the water collumn, or sweep the gravel for detritus, occasionally i treat them to algae wafers or shrimp pellets, the iodine in shrimp pellets keeps their carapaces in good shape) they get this look in their eyestalks like “hey, this tastes familia…Steve? was that you?, NOOOO! Soylent Brown is Shrimp!!!”
Maybe close enough for visits? I have a plan to locate myself in such an area that I can inflict myself with ease upon those Eastern seaboard Dopers who will have me. Once I get this college biz over with, anyway. Though I will miss the crawfish. Hey, look, I’m kinda on topic.
Oh, I’d love that. I’d love to meet you! Um…I’d say I’d show you around Albany, but much as I love it, it’s Albany. We’ll go to Boston together, OK?
 Cannibals!
you gotta get shrimps with the heads. As pointed out earlier, shrimps with heads are fresher. usually we buy them with heads and still alive.
The shrimp head is yummy!!! I don’t mean the whole head, but on certain specie of shrimp, you just peel the shrimp off of the body and their is a tasty little piece of meat right there. In Japan, the ama-ebi or sweet raw shrimp heads are a gourmet’s delight.
*this written by someone who didn’t know shrimp had heads until his first trip to Taiwan. :smack:
Horses for courses. Albany is about as far south as I want to go.
I’d be up for a Boston trip if I thought we could get Red Sox tickets, but I don’t think we can. It looks like my annual trip north to visit the family is going to be two separate trips this year though, so I get extra lobster.
Like how I steered this worthless post back to crustaceans?
