I pit April Fools Day

And calling each other Cornholers.

Or a banana…

Ha! Just kidding! See, it’s still April First…
You don’t get a banana. Sorry.

At first I too (three?) thought this would be an excellent idea. But you can Pit someone as a verb, so we’d be able Cornhole someone. While thread titles like “In which I cornhole Rick Santorum” would be funny for the first six months, it would quickly grow stupid. Even for me. Who never lets dirty jokes die.

You got nothin’ to bitch about. Today is my 19th wedding anniversary. That’s right, bitches, we got married on April 1st. So fucking sue me. And no stupid jokes about how the joke’s on her.

Ha! You lost a bet, I imagine.

I knew someone from another forum that posted that her boyfriend had been killed in an accident on the 29th of March, then revealed she was joking on the 1st. She said she posted it then because it would be too obvious on April Fools.

This was about 4 years ago and I still feel stupid for believing her.

are you cautious with anniversary presents or meals? is she?

What is the difference between a practical joke and vandalism or spreading a virus?

Consequence. Old school viruses gave the user a moment of shock-horror, something that pranksters aim for. The difference comes later. Proper pranks fool the victim without doing serious harm: in fact the latter is part of the joke as over-reaction was successfully elicited. Consequence can be both material and emotional.

And the very best pranks provide a teachable moment, one that is not obvious to the target.

Joke’s on her: I never divorced my first wife. hahahaha…ummm…d’oh!

No, that would be the Fourth of July.

I’m just glad it’s on a weekend this year.

April 1 is my birthday; and for some reason this means everyone around me MUST try to prank me. It gets annoying… and also, I’ve been through this 46 times now. It’s pretty hard to get me, so just knock it off already! I can’t remember the last time anyone was able to successfully prank me.

My sister’s birthday is April 1st, too. I used to try to get prankish things as gifts for her. We’ve both grown up and matured, though.

Happy Birthday!

I love a good prank, even when I’m the prankee. But I hate April Fool’s Day because it’s like Prank Amateur Night. Almost everything anyone does is immediately obvious or really irritating or (usually) both.

Real pranksters know you have to do it when people aren’t expecting it.

One of my friends was born on Feb 29. Every April Fools day, I offer to take him out for a drink and warn the bartender that he is only 7, so the bartender cards him and and gives him a virgin mary. Its our tradition.

Huh? Somebody did prank you - April Fools Day is on April 1st in Germany, too (Aprilscherz) - but cutting off your ties is part of Weiberfastnacht, the Thursday of Carneval when the last and hot part of Karnival starts. Anybody who’s in the Rhineland region during Karneval and doesn’t notice it … deserves a cut-off tie.

grumble Thanks. (get off my lawn!)

Prank Gadgets only a sociopath would use.

My roommate’s girlfriend tried to pull a crappy one on me.

I was about to go to the store, and she said “hey while you’re there, could you get me some updog?”

I replied “are your legs broken?”

“No…”

“Then get your own updog.”
