He said he witnessed soldiers shooting fleeing civilians. You’re the one making up some weird positioning argument to justify mass murder.
You don’t have to do that. That’s a choice you’re making.

I assume you’re referring to:
“Other forces” is right there in his quote, I am not making it up. And even putting that aside, “a soldier claims he saw other forces firing artillery towards a group of people that had begun to retreat” is not the same fucking claim as “shooting civilians in the back”.
You have given zero evidence that mass murder occurred.
Silly me, I forgot to consider that fleeing civilians might be walking/running backwards!
Yes, by all means, hang onto that thread. That’s a real strong thread.
Or, you know, that just because one guy claims he saw people “fleeing” from his position does not mean they were “fleeing” nor that they were even moving away from every other position.
But by all means, keep making up strawmen.
Did you even consider the possibility that maybe he was truthful and accurate, and he actually witnessed soldiers shooting fleeing civilians who posed no threat?
Yes, I did.
And…?
And having reviewed all of the evidence, I don’t find it at all likely that the IDF is shooting civilians for shits and giggles despite this guy’s testimony; it seems much more likely that the groups that were shot at were moving into areas restricted by the IDF despite repeated warnings not to do so (as many other c accounts say happened) than that artillery commanders were calling in strikes on civilians for no valid military reason just to kill them.
There are many possibilities in between the scenarios you suggest.
…Such as?
I don’t want to make any assumptions, but here’s just one of a thousand different possibilities – one jumpy (or hateful) IDF guy opened fire, the rest joined him by mistake, and then agreed to hush it up afterwards.
I’ve served, and it’s remarkably common how easy it is to get a group of service-people to agree to keep quiet about something (though I’ve certainly never come close to experiencing any violent such incidents – only relatively trivial stuff about maintenance, procedures, etc.).
The Vietnam War, and IIRC Iraq and Afghanistan too, are replete with such incidents. The truth always comes out eventually.
That would make sense for assault rifle fire, but the incident you claim happened involves artillery. A jumpy soldier isn’t firing artillery shells all by his lonesome. The chain of command for artillery strikes is much longer than it is for a guy firing his own rifle.
A huge part of the problem is that people make claims with no idea what these claims even entail. It’s even more egregious with drone strikes. People think some drone operator sitting in a room alone is making these life and death calls. That’s not how it works.
There are multiple mentions of “gunfire”, “machine guns”, “opening fire”, etc., in the link.
Unlike Bonespurs Babale. Which always makes it hilarious when he lectures you about anything military.
I was never infantry, but I also know that there’s no military that would ever put an artillery emplacement (which in this case is probably mortars or some other “small” artillery) nearby potential enemy fighters without plenty of infantry support (i.e. lots of machine guns).
A propos nothing at all, does anyone remember when the IOF opened fire on their own fucking escaped hostages waiving a white flag? And then, even after an officer ordered them to cease fire, went ahead an opened fire again on the wounded survivor(s), thus killing all three?
Surely an anomaly, not indicative of some sort of serious problem with the IDF, right?
It is hi - larious how Babs is stanning for Smapti in that idiot’s own pitting. He seems to think he can, what, turn it around or something?
It’s probably lonely denying, excusing, and rationalizing atrocities. So they probably are reaching for any friends available.
Whatever. I’ve had them both on ignore for months now.
