6 months ago you were such a cheerleader for it. You made so many predictions about the weakness of the regime, how they wouldn’t be able to close the strait, how they were a paper tiger etc.
The last I heard from you was how bad the 300B cease fire deal was (maybe I missed one of the thteads about it?). But that broke down within a week and it’s fairly obvious why it’s a stalemate now - the " let the Iranian people rise up" plan has backfired horribly, Iran hasn’t lost regional influence, and has successfully upended the oil market. Ot should now be obvious that it would take a ground invasion to depose Iran’s regime and the original idea was horrible.
For you (or anyone else who thought it was a good idea) there should be so much to say about how badly it’s backfired and why so many of your predictions were wrong.

As of the last few days, Iran seems intent on making this into a war again, having sicced their pet Houthis on the Gulf states; we will see if that amounts to anything more than more stock market manipulation.
At the very least, it demonstrated to Saudi Arabia the uselessness of cozying up to Turkey and Pakistan, so at least there’s that.
I get that this doesn’t matter to you in any way shape or form, but the war started on October 7, and Iran was launching hundreds of ballistic missiles at Israel over and over and over again until this war took out their capacity to do so.
If aiding your ally when an enemy whose stated policy is and always has been your ally’s total destruction is launching hundreds of ballistic missiles at them is illegal, then the US has shitty laws.
The US has a lot of shitty laws but we at least had a convention that’s not shitty which is that the president needs congressional approval for major military actions outside of emergenies.
And it makes sense - a major involvement in a war that requires serious blood and treasure for a long time shouldn’t be done lightly. Part of how we got where we are is that Trump went in on a whim and never actually convinced congress or the public to send Americans to die over this. He wants to TACO out of it on a whim but he can’t because the status quo is that Iran still has a near total control over the strait (some traffic from smaller ships has evaded their strikes but normal tanker traffic still can’t get through and it’s still a chokehold on the wotld economy).
I think the only law Trump may have broken was that he’s supposed to get congressional approval - he had a dumb loophole where he ended the war and then started it up immediately but this is obviously a bullshit attempt to evade it.
