As a fellow business owner who understands how annoying it is to take a dead loss on that sort of thing (My heat went out a few weeks ago, cost nearly $3k of money I didn’t really have to get it fixed.), I can sympathize with your situation.
So, here’s a deal, I will send you the $540 to cover your window replacement bill, if you send the money to all the people who will lose their health insurance to get their medical bills covered.

My daughter’s fiance had his laptop, tv, and video game console stolen night before last from his dorm. He is in the Army, stationed at Ft. Hood. They have key cards to get in to their rooms so it was probably one of his “brothers”. Stuff can be replaced (the MPs took the report but said it’s unlikely it will be recovered) but it’s just a feeling of violation, and for him knowing it was someone he likely works with every day that really stinks.
I was burgled once in Honduras. I was staying with a family while learning Spanish, and I came back one afternoon to find my room broken into, and my laptop and camera (and a few other things) gone. Luckily I had my passport and cash on my person.
This was a few days after I got into a fight late at night from some teenagers trying to mug me, but they were small and unarmed (and I was drunk) so I resisted successfully, but they probably saw the house I ran to, so I suspect it was the same assholes.

Then you should have been responsible enough to install adequate lighting. In fact, the break-in was partially your fault for failing to install lighting adequate to act as a deterrent (not to mention your failure to install more robust windows).

As for the window, the solution is simple. Have it replaced. When you are presented with the invoice, say the window wasn’t installed to your standards, and only pay them $20. That’s what Trump would do.

I think that its a failure of the education system in general that has led to this window being broken by a rock.
If that vandal had bothered to study or to apply himself and had tried to learn from that Dojo…
