The main reason I don’t think any guards were involved is that none would risk losing their jobs over the shitbag, but if they were i have to admit I’d look for damned near any excuse to not investigate. It’s just such a pity it didn’t happen years ago.
Meh. I’d have been okay with him spending every day for about twenty years WISHING he could take that way out. Now, all of his troubles are over, forever. Can’t say I’m too pleased about that.
Guess I’ll have to settle for a few thousand saved for the taxpayers of Ohio, as far as silver linings go. Maybe they could pay it forward, put the estimated amount Castro saved the system into a big pot, and split it among his victims.

I heard a commentator this morning saying that he thought it was Castro essentially calling the final shot, having the final word. His suicide was yet another act of power and control. “Oh, you’re going to keep me in prison for the rest of my life? Well, watch this.”
I agree that it is probably the best case scenario for the victims.
Too bad he decided to check out. He could have enjoyed years of “consensual” sex in prison.
He’s helping to make the prison system less crowded for 1,000 years.
His son and his daughter have both been interviewed by various media since he was imprisoned; I seriosly doubt they’d challenge that. They both loathed him, though the son said he would like a relationship with the half-sister born in captivity if the mother is living in part to let her know her relatives on her father’s side aren’t all evil.

I found this thread disturbing. Not because of Castro, but because of the enthusiastic and detailled depictions of tortures people wanted to be inflicted on him. It’s not uncommon to read such posts, but this thread is the worst I’ve read.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I stated upthread that certainly in reality I would not be able to inflict nor watch the kinds of tortures I expressed in my revenge fantasy type scenarios, even on a psychopath like Castro. The day I started this thread, I had watched much of the trial and the testimony was surreal. I had a visceral reaction to the things I heard. However flawed or juvenile my reactions were, I am human and that sometimes happens. Hopefully I can grow up to be just like you, clairobscur.
