I Pit HOBBY LOBBY

Most Americans don’t make a big fucking deal about how much they love life so much they’re willing to refuse women access to a damned IUI on the very tiny chance it might prevent implantation of a fertilized egg. So they go all the way to our highest court in the land over this alleged principle. And then they turn around and do business with a place where abortions are not only state subsidized but often coerced.

It makes them look like ridiculous hypocrites.

What portion of the RFRA requires employers to cover vaccinations over a sincere religious objection?

Funny, I was always told that god has a plan for my life. I assume this extends to women, and their unborn children as well. So, either god plans for people to have abortions and plans out the 10-week life of their aborted fetuses, or it is possible to thwart god’s plan. Which is it?

Ya know, in a lot of ways you are really smart. I often enjoy reading your legal reasoning and I think your mind works well in that specific area. And then you post stuff like this and remind me that you are really dumb. You believe in fairy tales that my 8-year old can spot as bullshit from a mile away. Even your legal analysis is often skewed by what you think some invisible prick that lives in the sky would want you to believe.

My hysteria?

:dubious:

I am not the fucking religious extremists who went to our highest court over the idea of funding an IUI because I don’t know shit about science. All the while making a fortune doing a lot of business with a place where abortions are known to be legal, state funded and often coerced.

That all sounds good, but until it seems likely and I until I can trust that most of the elected officials actually have integrity and decency, I have no choice but to support politicians that are more likely to appoint judges that will do the right thing as I see it.

Yeah, it might almost make up for the DLC’s ignoring the progressives on economic issue. Many more women will vote D in desperation to regain their rights. Maybe enough to make up for all the progressives who are voting Green.

I am. Since this is a subject that you imply that you follow closely, I’m surprised you’re not aware of the scientific developments of the last decade.

Maybe when you get around to responding to the last post I made in response to your call for cites (on the Dictionary Act), then I’ll get around to posting the research on the subject of Plan B, IUDs, and implantation.

Odd then that the founding fathers would create three branches of government, including the judicial, meant to be a check and balance on each other.

One questions the sincerity of Hobby Lobby’s religious beliefs … AND the sincerity of the US’s commitment to human rights. Rightly so, in both cases.

Well, they’ve been wrong for a long time.

Only if one is possessed of a particularly pig-headed brand of stupidity.

Shodan

And for the birth control that is affected The Court said, “The most straightforward way of doing this (providing coverage) would be for the Government to assume the cost of providing the four contraceptives at issue to any women who are unable to obtain them under their health-insurance policies due to their employers’ religious objections.”

Sounds like a single-payer plan for contraceptive services.

How do they sidestep the Hyde Amendment and the Stupak–Pitts Amendment which say the Fed cannot fund abortions?

If these methods are deemed to be abortifacients (or just potentially so) they cannot fund this.

I dunno. How do those amendments define “abortion”? Is the word “fetus” used? If so, I think “fetus” kicks in after what, 11 weeks? The drugs prohibited in Hobby Lobby do their thing way before that. If so, then yeah, it looks like the Fed can fund them according to SCOTUS.

Dirty hypocrites is more accurate, I’d bet. I won’t be breaking any glass or dragging anyone into the street, but fvck if they get a single penny from me.

Nice stab at the “we’re being persecuted” thing too.

And the “start a bizniz and blah blah” won’t fly with me either. This ruling says, the religious belefs of the owners trumps any religious beliefs (or none) of employees. I call bullshit. If you have money and are in charge, you get to decide what laws and regs you will comply with, based on “religion” and what religious bullshit your employees have to stomach… because you’re large and in charge and have money. Bullshit.
“Nazi_boycott_of_Jewish_businesses”. I’m no damn Nazi. I AM a supporter of not buying from ASSHOLES.

Uh huh.:dubious:
