I Pit Obama and his Kool Aid Drinking Puppets

Absent evidence to the contrary, I always assume it’s LaRouche. In person there’s often supporting evidence: pamphlets, affinity for the higher vocal registers, mydriasis.

Hey, thanks; I learned a useful new word today.

You have all missed the obvious: Rael is actually Ra-El, Superman’s (Kal-El) younger, not-so-bright brother, who was on vacation to a green sun planet when Krypton blew up. Super powers were no longer an option by the time he got to Earth, and he’s been sulking ever since. He’s voting for Zod.

Heh.

And here I thought he was the hero of Genesis’s concept album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, and it was the strain of living in a surrealistic and malevolent underworld that turned him into such a wack-job. He’s voting for Doktor Dyper.

ETA: Looks like I was right.

Thank God someone got the reference.

You kidding? There’s plenty of several-thousand post count folks out there whose basic attitude is “You’re voting for [fillinnamehere]? Man, you are such a fucking [absurdlysimplifiedphilosophyhere]. I am one of those true-thinking independents who is the only one who can possibly every objectively look at anything anywhere. The rest of you are just a bunch of idiots who need to learn from my infinite wisdom.”

I could name names, but I’m not really in the mood for a bunch of symantic parsing bullshit.

Nah, The boy’s auditioning for the job of SDMB Conservative Gadfly Who Exposes the Foolish Hypocrisies of the Left. We get those every once in a while.

Oh, please. The utopia in the Colorado mountains was not fully established as of the close of the book. (Pretty good idea for a sequel though.) They just had a handful of the the “producers” moving there. Surely you understand that if a society is sufficiently small that it might not have what you’d call a “government”. But even small groups of like-minded people state rules and a means to enforce them just to let everyone live together more peacefully.

So if the end of Atlas Shrugged is the best you can do, I’ll have to take that as a “no”.

Oh, dear Og! Another 800 pages of the most turgid and leaden prose evah! Trees would die for that, you know. Perfectly good trees.

So, you preferred The Fountainhead. Me too.

Oh, yeah. The hot sex scenes, especially. The rape like overtones have long endeared her to feminists everywhere.* Anthem* was best, though. Shorter.

I was sure a thread about “Obama and his Kool Aid Drinking Puppets” would include a link to the relevant YouTube clip, and I was curious to see how he managed it without ending up with a soggy fist.

Oooh… another poster who thinks the world shines out of the collective asses of some band he’s got the hots for–and expects the rest of us to share in his fealty, disparaging all those who do not recognize the Genius of said band and his genius for liking them. Is an old ticket stub in your wallet? Are you wearing a Genesis T shirt as you type? I bet they’re all on your MP3, you lone drummer, independent type, you. Of course anyone who likes Genesis to the extent you do would have superior knowledge about --well, about everything! :smack:
I thought this type died out with Yani. Guess they’re here to stay.

Rael, Rale, Elra, whatever your name is, if you want to continue showing us the light, pay for membership. Pay your money and take your chance–just like the rest of us sheep.

Well, since libruls think he can walk on water, I assume keeping his hand a little dry probably wouldn’t be much of a trick.

I don’t think the word EXACTLY means what you think it means.

I think pretty much all it means when Genesis fans find each other is that they recognize a shared history of wasting their teen years playing D&D and not getting laid.

Rael, your OP and every subsequent post appears to be based on the assumption that Obama is the second coming of Eugene Debs or something. What exactly are you basing that on? Really, what in his political positions is any more radical than the rest of the Dem presidential candidates this year, or any Dem POTUS we’ve had since FDR? The most you can say about him in that regard is that, unlike Hillary, he never was involved in DLC.
