Ms. Fluke is over 18. Mrs. Fluke has deliberately made herself a public figure on the topic of sex and birth control and publicized her opinions using herself as an example. That makes her example fair game for the opinions and judgements of others.

As I stated in my original post, I believe she has put herself in the position to be judged and called such names deliberately and for political effect.

On the other hand, neither of my children are even teenagers.

There are rules here against telling people “fuck you,” or “fuck off,” or calling them “cunts,” as sort of the minimal rules of civility that posters must display to each other.

By that standard it’s hard to understand how describing graphic and offensive sex with another poster’s minor children isn’t well past what anyone could reasonably consider to be appropriate and allowable.

There should be zero tolerance for this kind of thing. To my understanding it has never occurred before. Those that engaged in it should be banned.

No One knows what their children will do once they are able to have sex, yours may one day be having sex and you won’t know about it. One need look at Sarah Pailin’s daughter and see that no matter what a parent teaches their child, mother nature can upset the most strongest of parents teachings!

So what he does make up this issue that “Hey, Catholic universities should have to offer birth control” which he knows is unconstitutional, but it’s the gesture that counts, and if they can’t do it, then insurance companies can, right?

Now that a couple of people said this was a bad idea and Rush called the brazen slut, a “slut,” Obama can call her up and offer her his sympathies and show he cares about women’s rights , and thereby secure the vote of stupid and easily manipulated women.
What bothers me in this whole manufactured bullshit is that they didn’t even try harder to make it less obvious what they were doing.

FYI, I did receive an email response from Steve Lundberg. He explained that he deleted my comment on his blog because it was off topic, because I brought up the comparison to vision or dental coverage, and the topic was about government mandating coverage, not the validity of coverage for contraceptives.

I replied back about this statement:

I expect there are respectable arguments for subsidizing contraception (though I am skeptical that there are arguments sufficiently respectable to win me over), but Ms. Fluke made no such argument. All she said, in effect, was that she and others want contraception and they don’t want to pay for it.

In no way does that statement complain about government mandates of coverage, it is a condemnation of subsidizing contraceptives. So my comparison to vision or dental coverage is valid - they have the same level of subsidation if they are covered under the plan.

I also pointed out that his defense of Rush’s remarks was suspect, because Rush’s remarks did not point out the fallacy of government mandate of coverage, but focused on hateful inaccurate accusations about the personal choices of Fluke and a general hateful attitude toward any woman wishing to control her reproduction.
