I pit shoppers who leave shit all over the stores.

Things I do:

  1. I return my carts. I even pick up other stragglers on the way to the corral. I’ve been known to return carts (especially ones left in parking spaces), as I walk into the store.
  2. I return stuff to the place I got it. I’ll straighten up shelves if necessary. I make my wife return stuff to the place she got it, though she would just leave them wherever she is at the moment.
  3. If I knock something over, I’ll clean it up myself, or grab an employee. And I’ll still try to help.

I’ve always “known” that not returning items to where you got them in the store is tantamount to shoplifting. I probably got this from my parents, who were retail managers. I’ve also worked in retail.

I don’t like to impose on people, even if they are working for the business…
