I pit South Africa for doing a poor imitation of Buggs Bunny

I doubt that he’d want to get fucked in South Africa, where nearly one out of five people have AIDS. The government’s reaction strikes me as a bit of a sad proxy for South African xenophobia, denialism and frankly batshit insane beliefs where it comes to matters of sexuality. Ah, but I suppose it’s not polite to bring that up. That darned sports minister!

**Koxinga **your location field is blank, but I’m betting that if you owned up to where you live I could come up with a good few ways to slander your entire country based on some prominent wackiness. Broad brushes are not usually helpful.

OK, fair enough. I live in Taiwan, BTW.

If you are going to pit South Africa then do it for something worthwhile, like that ridiculous fucking accent!

All of which are Pitworthy in and of themselves, but on the other hand, hardly relevant to the topic at hand or worth condemning the country as an abstract whole. I mean, I hate the current US foreign adventurism, but you won’t see me condemning the entire country for it.

What accent? Mine is an RP/Estuary mix.

Well, I guess it’s more difficult than you’d think at first. My way of thinking was that the testes, whether sported internally or externally, gives the owner extra testosterone, which is the hormone that causes greater muscle growth. To compete against people who don’t have their own super-productive on-board testosterone factory seems to give the testes owner an unfair advantage.

Regarding other posters and the semantic arguments they have put forth, this subject seems to require a level of verbal gymnastics that I haven’t prepared to perform. My only thoughts on the subject were in regards to how this situation affects woman’s competition and a level playing field.

The Seth Efrican accent is excellent, in my opinion.

My only comment that is vaguely on topic is, at least Julius Malema has stayed quiet on this matter so far (as far as I know…).

** she’s a girl!**
Bugger it wouldn’t let me say it in all caps

You are correct, it should be about fairness in competition. My heart just goes out to a ‘girl’ who always believed she is/was a female, who trained hard, who wanted to represent her country and do her best.

She did that and now is finding out the most intensely personal SHOCKING (sorry Princhester…I did caps again) information about herself while the world is watching.

Her record should absolutely stand. She went into this as a teenage girl wanting to do her best. She has left probably feeling like a freak of nature and trying to re-think her whole world. She clearly entered this competition with no intent of defrauding anyone and the person who lost the most is not the female who came second but Caster herself.

What happens to her now? This is her talent. She can’t compete with women. Will male athletes accept her? Could she accept herself as a male athlete? Should she have to?

Why do I even care?..it’s just sport.

Adults playing stupid games.

 What a persnickety, bitchy little whine. That time of the month?

I don’t understand the big hoo-rah over this. Even supposing she is genetically male, the tests demonstrated that her testosterone levels were below limits set for female competitors, right? And that being the case, she should be allowed to compete against other females, regardless of her genetics.

From what I’ve read about this situation (which I admit probably isn’t much), they’ve chosen hormone levels, rather than the presence of a Y chromosome, as the limiting factor in determining whether someone can compete as a woman. And by that standard, she qualifies. If they want to change the rules now, so be it, but she’s been competing fairly under the standards as they’re set at present.

So, the officials and rulemakers who are complaining about her can perch and rotate.

She may compete with men, but it would appear that she can not —Unless she shaves about ten seconds off her time.

Menstruation insults - so classy! You must really wow the ladies  ! Well, that and your non-threatening lack of penis.

Maybe they ought to make a third category.

Men
Women
Hermaphrodites

This is what I understood as well. At the recent competition, it was reported that she tested within acceptable ranges for testosterone in female athletes.

Olympic policy allows trangendered individuals to compete in their preferred gender if they have undergone hormone therapy to make sure their hormone levels are where they should be according to the acceptable ranges. I also tend to think this is a tempest in a teapot.

She/he is not a hermaphrodite.

What are you trying to say by this? Not being snarky, I just don’t understand you and do not have a great deal of knowledge about the condition. Looking at this site:

I find this (bolding mine):

Edit: from the limited information, it sounds to me like: 46, XY Intersex as referenced in the above site.

And the other GIRLS she was competing with? They are just girls wanting to do their best. How about them?

Yawn. You simply must do better.

14 hours and fake ennui is the best you could come up with? Forget micropenis, microbrain is more likely.
