No, you said that if these people were going to fall all over themselves about Cinco de Mayo they should go back to Mexico.
I don’t ignore anything. Citizen or not, if you are so offended by the American flag or prefer another one, just go that country. Win-win for everyone.
No. You’re an idiot.
But if I do offend someone like you, I feel it a positive attribute. If you were a famous person I’d include this skill of mine in my CV.
Wow, I’m going to have to ask you to point to your posts where said all this, as opposed to the post of yours I quoted previously
Because there it just seems that you are saying, um, exactly what it seemed you were saying the first time I quoted you. Did you mean something other than “It’s not the business of the school to be telling students what they should be celebrating”? Were you actually seeking information, and not declaring your position with a rhetorical device?
No, I’m saying that what you’re saying is that schools shouldn’t be having holidays, i.e. they should not be “telling the students what they should be celebrating”. Therefore, I’m wondering if you have an equal concern about all the other holidays that schools observe, or if it’s just this one.
Because frankly, it’s one of those 2 options, or you mis-spoke, recognize your error, and agree that schools can and do legitimately direct students to celebrate holidays.
You are wrong. I urge you to go back and reread what I said. And I’d appreciate it if the next time you state what “I said” you just use the quote feature, so it’s sure to be correct.
Nope.
Look, obviously schools have holidays. Telling High School students that they should or should not celebrate any given holiday is not what they should be in the business of doing. “Celebrate” is the operative word.
I did quote you.
Ya know.
When all those black kids wanted to go to the white schools a few decades back, I am soo glad we sent em packing so we could avoid any imminent disruptions to our educational institutions.
If those brown students get so bent at seeing an AMERICAN flag, maybe we should send them packing “too”. And if they don’t or wouldnt have, then send the High School Admin instead.
A word which must be new to you. Please, can you tell the class, what does “celebrate” mean?
I’ll just chime in here and say, here’s a good rule of thumb: “Kids, if you’re celebration will cause you to be offended by other kids wearing the American flag on their shirts, don’t have it. Or stay home and have your celebration there. Or get your heads out of your asses, enjoy both your celebration and the fact that you’re in the great country called the U.S. of A.”
I’ll quote you, douchebag.
Where you have the right do be a douchbag. Seriously. It’s right there in the Constitution.
@ mag, obviously.
Not for what you claimed I said: (bolding mine)
I did not say what comes after the bolded part.
It’s true. You didn’t use the word “back”.
Why do you think it’s not possible that the students celebrating Cinco de Mayo were doing just that?
And why don’t you think it’s possible that these 5 kids were trying to be deliberately insulting and provocative?
I notice that you’ve already ascribed blame to the CdM supporters, tho.
Does your knee hurt from all the constant jerking? Ah never mind; you’re just jerky.
HA! You’re trying to come to the aid of someone else?!! When you can’t even handle you’re own shit!!! Funny.
But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that you jumped at the opportunity to be wrong again. (I’ll leave you to figure out how and why.) You’ve got passion for the stupid, boy. PASSION. I’ll give you that much.
The actual racist is the vice principle, Rodriguez.
He apparently thinks his hispanic students cannot control themselves well enough to avoid a fight when they “feel disrespected” by American kids wearing American symbols in America.
Rodriguez certainly has a low opinion of his students.
I am in complete agreement with magellan01.
Wait…did I actually type that? Really?
Wow.
I notice that you have drawn a strange line here. Why do you refer to some students as “hispanic” and others (the ones you support) as “Americans”?
Yes. Thank you. And that’s not just a “gotcha”. If I had used the word “back”, that would have implied that none of the Mexican students were born here (which I’m sure would have sparked additional cries of “racist”). Also, I wanted to allow for kids that were not Mexican, but take up their cause. So, whoever gets so caught up in a non-American holiday to the degree that they’re offended by the American flag, let them be shown the way back to that glorious country from which this wonderful non-American holiday hails.
