I pit the American PR arm of ISIS and murderous Muslim Radicals.

Same here.

Same here.

Although I did find the “hambone” thing interesting, so it wasn’t a total waste of pixels.

Ok, I’m curious. Why do they want to do this apologism?

And if this were 700 BC, you might have a point. But in the world we live in TODAY—you know, the one where Muslim Extremists are beheading journalists, blowing up innocent people, throwing homosexuals off tall buildings, stoning women, mutilating young women, subjecting family members (usually women, of course) to honor killings, flying planes into buildings and going on shooting sprees against innocent civilians…all in the name of Allah—you don’t.

My guess is that they are so infatuated with some naive, kumbaya notion of equality that they try to force the facts to fit their narrative. While I wholeheartedly share their desire to live in a world where Islam would be just another religion—no different to non-adherents than Buddhism, Catholicism, Quakerism, Judaism, Mormonism, Hinduism, etc. is to non-adherents, the reality of the world we live in today makes that just a pipe dream. Given the reality of an Islamic Extremism and the sheer number of Muslims, non adherents can’t just ignore Islam the way we might ignore, say, Mennonites.

I also think their desire for racial equality (another desire I share) plays into this. Since the majority of Muslims share darker skin, the fear is that the fear translates not just to a religion, but to color. Again, while this is a laudable goal, it does not help keep Americans safe. Any plan to do so should—needs to—start with:

Step 1: Identify the enemy who is trying to kill you.

Thanks for the answer!

Would you say that this was a mindset that works across the board? That is to say, not for every example, but can we use it to predict responses to other situations? Are there other situations where they’ve suggested a similar kind of POV?

That said, something you said there seems to be at odds with your summation. You talk about Islamic extremism and then about the “sheer number of Muslims”; surely the “sheer number of Muslims” aren’t trying to kill me? That would appear to be a misidentification.

This pitting was quite justified, and it looks like the administration got a nationwide pitting that resulted in them dropping their bullshit PC reasoning:

You gotta admit, redacting references to Islam was richly deserving of mockery.

Yes. It’s used by those on the left that share his views every time the Arabic-sounding name of a suspect is not released. And when the description is withheld because it would be something like “a Middle Eastern looking man…”.

They also ignore the facts when it comes looking at black crime. They present the disparity in numbers (in say, incarceration rates), to build the narrative that societal/institutional racism is the culprit. But it ignores the inner-city culture in which many blacks are raised. And while Obama (for instance) may once in a while talk about the woeful state of affairs created by the absence of fathers in poor black communities and the incidence of young teens getting pregnant, the reality of that inner-city culture is largely ignored when it comes to looking at the cause of black poverty, unemployment, incarceration, high school drop out rates, etc.

No, what I mean is that given that some percentage of Muslims are Extremists and the sheer number of Muslims, the number of Muslim Extremists is not an insignificant one. In other words, it’s not 6 nutty guys who happen to be Muslim.

Ladies and gentlemen, a genius in our midst.

You want real genius, I’ve got someone for you. Identify the people who are funding the guys who want to kill you:

The Saudi royal family and large parts of the Pakistani government.

So what’s your solution?.. Kill 'em all and let Allah sort them out?

Did we only kill Germans loyal to the Nazi party?

We’re obviously nowhere near that point, but if ISIS did succeed in taking over whole countries, that would actually mean war with whole countries in that region.

More brilliance. How long have you known this and why have you been keeping this information from the authorities?

Since you seem to have such a difficult time with Step 1, I won’t waste my time.

Work on embracing Step 1.

The authorities have been trying(poorly) to hide this information. The dirty little not so secret, which I’m sure you are just as aware of as me, is that many of the governments supposedly on our side are just as radical as ISIS. They just see advantage in an alliance with us for now(while funding anti-Western terrorism on the side).

Given that we’re not nearly at that point, perhaps we shouldn’t be talking about going to war with all muslims.

No, no. I’m with you.

You’re obviously smarter and more resourceful than the thousands upon thousands of counter terrorism intelligence analysts, agents and military forces working on this problem around the world.

So please, do go on… Step 1: Identify the enemy.

Would you be kind enough to share your list?

Yawn. Do you really think that your snark is not obvious? You must be even dummer than your posts suggest. And dat’s saying’ sumpin’, by golly! Yuk-yuk.

And you still have Step 1 to work on. You obviously haven’t mastered it adequately. Get back to work.

What alternative explanations for the mindset that leads to these kinds of things do you discount, and why?

Are you using “Extremists” interchangeably here with “people who want to kill you”? Either way, what percentage is it that desire my death?

Awww… am I insulting your intelligence? Or am I straining its limits?

Not clear on your question. Can you restate?

Not sure of the percent, but the point is that even if it’s tiny, the resultant number is significant. There are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world. 1% would equate to 16 million. 0.1% equates to 1.6 million. Neither of those numbers are comforting. And when you add sympathizers into the mix, thanks quickly get much more troubling.

I know the Pew poll has been shared on these boards many time. H[URL="The World’s Muslims: Religion, Politics and Society | Pew Research Center"Here it is again.
