At least it’s Obama and not every half-assed douchebag Kennedy looking for camera time. Yesterday, I was subjected to Fat Drunk Teddy and Caroline supporting Obama and one of Bobby Kennedy’s kids telling me he supports Hillary.
Sorry to disappoint the Hillary lovers on the SDMB (sadly, too many of them) but I’d rather listen to Obama read from the phone book than listen to Hillary…well, than listen to her at all, the two-faced pandering lying bitch.

Big. Fucking. Deal.

They are Kennedys, it’s not like they are going to get jobs as plumbers or assembly line workers or something. Talk is what they do.

I agree, but if she pulls out the nomination over Obama, I will still end up voting for her. Just not with the enthusiasm I will have in voting for Obama. Either centrist Democrat will be a good thing for this country after the last 7 years.

Don’t they all pander and lie? Obama certainly panders, though I’m not sure if we’ve caught him lying yet. The only concrete thing that pushes me toward Obama is their differing actions with regards to Iraq. Obama was among the unpopular politicians who had the guts to heed reason and oppose the war initially, when it counted. Hillary was one of the hawkier Democrats that authorized the war. Whether or not she just got caught up in the mass idiocy at the time, or whether it was calculated to further her political ambition, that vote is inexcusable. Only one thing, but a very, very big thing, one that makes me fear for more potentially catastrophic decisions from this person. So big, that it makes my decision for me.
If you’re already sick and tired of campaigns/politicians you’re not going to make it until November. Better get a break from it all so you don’t go off the deep end. Don’t watch TV for a while, avoid newspapers and the internet, don’t go anywhere because you might see campaign posters, don’t talk to anyone because they might mention politics. Hmm … maybe you should try living in a cave? Wait, are bears still hibernating and are they non-partisan?
Personally I am thankful for the blessed relief from Giuliani.

Obama it is.

As I posted before, I’m a fiscal conservative and social quasi-liberal who thinks that of the entire field out there, Obama is the best choice. He’s not my ideal candidate, and he’s on the opposite side of the fence on some issues than I, but here we are.

If it is McCain, Rudy will be part of the election team. He might get the VP or it might just be a promise of AG or Homeland Security. They are friends.
I sincerely hope that it is McCain and not Romney that needs to make this decision. It even looks likely. So, I don’t think you will be rid of Rudy any time soon.
I am not 100% sure, but I saw something last week, where Rudy is one of the only candidates whose poll numbers dropped after he visited an area. Has anyone else seen this? Was it real or just stretching the truth for humor value?

They’re bullshit ads, to boot. This is where his campaign money is going? “Hey, young voters-- Barack promises change! Obama has a long history of being able to bring people together!” Not one of these ads references his position on any political issue. Just buzzwords to brainwash people to mindlessly vote, in case they hadn’t already been following. “Change!” “Unity!” “Hope!” I at least respect Hillary for not pandering to the uneducated vote in this state.

There’s very little to distinguish Obama from Hillary policy-wide. What they represent–the tenor of their campaigns, their attitude toward the electorate and public service (which you’re calling “bullshit”)–is how he’s setting himself apart. Once he wins the nomination ( :fingers crossed: ), then there’ll be plenty of policy-oriented ads against the GOP nominee. But right now, generating hope and enthusiasm is what’s critical in getting the vote out.

Scarlett Johansson left me a voicemail message this morning asking me out on a date. I mean, she said she was asking me to vote for Obama tomorrow, but her meaning was clear.
I haven’t seen very many candidate commercials this time around. What I will be glad to be done with are the commercials for Propositions 94-97 on the California ballot. Those commercials have been constantly since about November, and in the past two weeks, it’s been pretty much every commercial break. SHUT UP.

We at the office started lampooned the format when we would talk to one another in the office.
