(Seriously, last night when I was showering I kept my eyes open the entire time. I did fine washing my hair, but it started to get a bit tricky when it came time to wash my face. I felt like a dumbass, but damn. Not even the X-Files scared me this much.)

Yeah, these newer ones break your neck. Oh what’s that? Weeping Angels are meant to feed off your temporal energy, sending you back in time so you end up living to death?

No, not these ones. Yeah, that’s what they were doing last time, but now they’re doing something different. Next time we see them they’ll kill you by turning you into statues too. Or drowning you. Or stabbing you. Or indeed doing whatever it takes to remove any trace of distinctive style they can possibly have, until they become part of the Great Collective Of Generic Aliens Who Do Bad Things To You And Are Bad But Are Helpfully Stopped By Whatever It Is That A Sonic Screwdriver Can Do This Week.

And that was an episode I actually liked.

Yep, spoiled by pointless elaboration and embellishment. Blink was damn near perfect in terms of suspense, horror and plot, the new angels are just stone bogeymen. Now they can move if when they’re seen by one another, now they can move when the camera can see them. Pffft!

I was so disappointed when they started shooting at them.

IIRC, they shot at them because the flashes from the guns stopped them from being in total darkness, which I thought was really smart.
