I PIT the Entire US Congress!

That’s the problem. Anyone who has the slightest shred of moral fiber takes one look at Congress and says, “Like hell am I going to join that pack of hyenas!” The only people who want the job are the ones who shouldn’t have it. And that includes the Democrats too. You’re deluding yourself if you think that they’re any better than the Republicans. They just fuck us up in a slightly different way.

As for inaction being better than action, you might want to take a look at my state before you commit to that philosophy. Our current governor, Jennifer Granholm, spent the first three years of her term doing absolutely nothing while the state’s economy withered away. This year, she’s suddenly become concerned about the plight of our state’s workers (what changed, Jenny? Did you finally remember that you need to get re-elected?) and she brought in a couple of companies, but it’s nothing compared to all the jobs we’ve lost. I’ve voting for her challenger because he’s a businessman, so hopefully he knows something about what needs to be done to make Michigan more attractive to employers.

Oh, Wikipedia says so, so it must be true.

In many of the ways that Social Security is different from a typical ponzi scheme, it’s actually much worse! Ponzi schemes at least are voluntary and only catch suckers who are dumb enough to willingly participate. Social Security, as the Wiki page points out, relies on the power of government coercion.

Since every single taxpayer is forced to participate, this particular ponzi scheme has characteristics which are unique. However, this is certainly not a good thing! It simply means that it’s worse than a regular small scale ponzi scheme and doesn’t burn out quickly, but instead rots for decades before it collapses under it’s own weight.

Well there is the problem. Politicians shouldn’t be bringing in companies, they should be creating conditions that make companies want to come in. In other words, “Build it and they will come”.

I wish that there was a space on the ballot to mark ‘None of the above’ and if that got the majority of votes then there’d be another election, but without any of the candidates listed on the original ballots. If ‘None of the above’ won on the 2nd vote, then none of those candidates, or their parties, could run in the third and final ballot. Maybe some independant candidates could finally break into the system and not be subject to party discipline all the time. At least I’d like to see something like that in Canada. I’m tired of having to hold my nose everytime I vote.

I keep voting them out but they never seem to leave.
