I Pit the ID-demanding GOP vote-suppressors (Part 1)

And in your diseased imagination, nobody works all the hours that happen to coincide with the government office hours, nobody would have to pay for another day of child care in order to make that errand, nobody has anything better to do with their time an money but chase down the stuff they need to get that ID that solves a problem that doesn’t fucking exist. But halfwits like you will just cheer at the prospect of people losing their right to vote nearly as much as you cheer when they get gunned down by police.

How was my comment not a reasonable response to your position? You said “every time I vote I show my ID, it’s easy”, as if that is at relevant. I gave illustrations of similar things that well-meaning-but-ignorant people at other times in history might have said about other laws that we now realize were largely intended to suppress votes.

Are they? Are they really? Eager? Do you honestly believe that?

Yeah, that made me chuckle. It was like the castle Bricker’s building himself in the sky added a new wing.

Sure.

Obviously, like any partisans, they are more eager for their own supporters to vote, but assuming “eager,” can fairly describe a range rather than a binary position…sure.

Would you like me to produce twenty quotes from threads on this board in which the same (or worse) types of sentiments were applied to Republicans with nary a peep from you?

Yes – by all means, waste a bunch of your time. Please, spend an hour poring through the Dope to find posts that everyone knows exist somewhere – I probably skipped over them if I ever came across them in the first place, because I prefer to spend my time on the Dope engaging with people who actually disagree with me on substantial issues. But if you want to prove “yes, I post like a whiny childish jerk, but so do some liberals!”, then go ahead – I certainly wouldn’t argue with you.

God what a pathetic titty baby whiner you are in this thread, on top of just being an ignorant jerk sometimes with the “all liberals are dishonest or stupid or both” crap.

It’s a defense mechanism. He’s failing utterly, but his arrogance can’t accept that, so he has to concoct this narrative of victimization to rationalize how he can be both superior and losing on the merits.

It’s the sign of a very soft, flabby mind .

In what sense is that mockery? Calling you, a guy who supports an organization that helps people get away with raping children, is mockery. Because it’s an absurd description of your position.

Saying, you support abortion. You enjoy when fetuses are ended at a surgeon’s knife, isn’t.

It’s not even simple, childish mockery like, “You Eat Poop!”

But you said they’re eager for “everyone” to vote. I don’t see how that’s compatible with being eager for some people to vote but not others… unless you claim that they REALLY want their supporters to vote, but still are actively eager for everyone else to vote also, just less eager.

Dude, give it up. Your argument is pure bullshit. It has been from day one. It is not a hardship to get an ID. It never has been a hardship in any of the states. Deal with it.

Please show proof that they are NOT eager to do so.

How shitty it must be to live in the jumbled nonsense world you inhabit. How scary and absurd everything must seem.

How about, the fact that they’re humans? For them to be eager for something that would be politically disadvantageous would be pretty extraordinary. If you think that’s actually the case the onus is on you to demonstrate it.

What might have been indicative of honest eagerness for all to vote is some Republicans gaffing (ie telling the truth by accident) that this would HURT their election chances.

So why do you condemn me for engaging in a tactic that you ignore when your political allies do it?

No, because “eager” admits to a range of emotions, not a binary on/off. They can be eager for everyone to vote in the sense that they support democracy, while still being MORE eager for their supporters to vote.

Probably because I didn’t read it. Why does this cause you such pain that you whine like a titty baby about it? Is this butthurt what causes you to make jerkish and foolish sweeping judgments about all liberals?

So they’re eager, but it may be an eagerness that doesn’t register?

So if there was a law proposed which would aid in voter education and outreach, with the intention of increasing voter turnout in historically underpriveleged communities, even if it had absolutely ROCK-solid guarantees that it would never ever in any way help out anyone who was not a legal voter, do you think that Republican voters in Texas, in the aggregate, would support it? (Assume that somehow it costs nothing…)

I agree that eager is not binary, but I see no reason to believe that the way Texas Republicans feel about more LEGAL poor/minority voter turnout fits the word at all.
