The question was how would you feel if you personally sold and handed over the weapons that were used to kill and mutilate a bunch of children?
It’s not about whether you’re going to lose your license or go to jail, but what are your thoughts on being the conduit through which a child murderer obtained the tools of his crime.
I think we need to take better care of people with mental illnesses, be more responsive when people show warning signs of violence, and also have stronger gun control.
Do these fucking idiots think the kids are going to huddle under these “ballistic blankets” like a cloak of invulnerability with a shooter IN THE ROOM?
For as much as they worship guns, they sure don’t seem to have a clue about how they work.
This reminded me that I wanted to look this nutjob up to see if she was really an FBI agent - and this is what I found on the website for a convention where she was a speaker
Maureen O’Connell spent 25 years on the FBI’s Evidence Response Team (ERT), which is their version of a CSI Team. She worked bombings, murders, missing persons, kidnappings and acts of terrorism.
Not really the person I would be asking about a shooting incident. But not surprised Fox did
There’s no need, you antifa lackey! Never question the Boys in Blue! Blue lives matter! And if some cop sticks a plunger up some guy’s ass, well, it never happened, and he deserved it anyway.
If I had to pick a “single most important person” in a child’s life, it would be the child’s mother. Saying that, I have to say that she bears more than a little responsibility for the kind of human being he turned out to be. The fact that she is still making excuses for him even after his horrendous crimes indicates to me that her “parenting” consisted of mostly just that over the span of his entire life.
Being in education has given me a close insight on just how important parenting is to the development of children. With very few exceptions, the rule of thumb is, “Good parents, good kids; lousy parents, awful kids.”
I would be inclined to cut her some slack, but the whole “he had his reasons” and “don’t judge him” is essentially defending him, which isn’t acceptable. She should be ashamed of that.
Whatever those reasons were, they caused him to shoot up a bunch of fourth graders and their teacher. No amount of bullying or bad behavior justifies that by anyone.
I don’t think she’s responsible for her son’s actions though. Not her fault that he went crazy and shot up a school. Not her fault that the cops were incompetent and cowardly.
Since the OP seems hesitant to respond, let me do it for him.
The OP is a gun nut. He would feel exactly the same as any other gun nut – it’s their standard mantra: The gun is an inanimate object. It wasn’t the gun’s fault. It’s never the gun’s fault. Thus certainly not the sort of thing that would ever be on the conscience of a gun store owner, you bleeding-heart liberal gun-grabber. It’s entirely the kid’s fault for being a psycho so look no further. Therefore fuck him, and fuck his mother, too, and leave my guns alone.
The fact that other countries choose to restrict and regulate guns is their problem. All it does is deprive their populations of the macho pleasures that are the birthright of every testosterone-crazed American male.*
