You know, if a man possessed by those demons decides to use a kitchen cleaver, he might kill one or two people before someone takes him down. There’s no way he kills as many as a gun murderer can. The right tool helps do the job well. And the right tool for mass murder is an automatic or semiautomatic gun. Restricting them would save lives, even if people don’t change one iota.
Is this when we post videos of professional gunslingers doing mag changes in the blink of an eye . . . and not blooper videos of amateurs, under the most minor pressure, fumbling them?
I think the $10K figure is rather inflated. This Link has a photo of AR-15 rifles reported to have been posted to an Instagram account associated to the shooter prior to the shooting. This other link is an ad from an on-line retailer of what seems to be one of the two rifles shown in the CNN story. The price shown in the ad is $1260. The ammo seems to be around 0.60/round in bulk, so the 1600 rounds would be around another $1000. Throw in the magazines for another $1000 or so and we are below $5,000, not $10,000. The $5K figures is probably closer to the truth since the media loves to inflate the cost.

Sure, but a lot of those nut jobs seem to have been well planned in what they are going to do. Solidifying their evil intents. Even if they only have a couple of revolvers on them they could gun down 6 people with each before needing to reload. That’s no answer either.

You’re thinking too small. I’m waiting patiently for *pkbites to produce a video of someone who has sawed off their bolt action rifle to a carbine, fitted a 3D-printed handle to it, and can unload 500 rounds a minute with the aid of a co2 canister, thus proving once and for all that if we ban AR-15s, we’ll have to ban bolt action hunting rifles too.
Which, you know what? Fuck it, I’d be fine with that too.
*Of course when he does, someone please be sure to @ me so I know to unignore that particular post of his.
I’m not sure why you think it’s relevant to debate the value of the weapons…but the shooter had 2 different ARs, a handgun, 1600 rounds and 60 mags. So your math omits the cost of 2 guns which gets you to at least $7000 based on your lowball estimates. Does it matter a lick?

Why yes, yes they do seem to plan well.
Surely it’s just a coincidence that these type of folks choose ARs and high capacity magazines and not wheel guns.
It’s unclear to me what the great loss would be if all rifles were required to be bolt-action. I guess target shooters and hunters may get some blisters or some such. Pussies.

No, it’s not in and of itself, but uncovering every fact and detail of this event could matter a lick. It has to be done whether or not the value of the guns mattered. And there is some possibility it did.

And these types of weapons HAVE been around for more than a century.
1940 to be nit-picky. Hitler was the one who named them assault rifles , he was a really big fan. The weapons were designed to kill lots of people quickly and were limited to military use for quite a while.
But don’t let facts get in the way of your kneejerk reactions, it’s not like anyone notices or anything.

And there is some possibility it did.
Oh please, enlighten me on how the cost of the guns changes anything at all about this tragedy?
Perhaps gun sellers can just run a sale to skirt some regulation?

But don’t let facts get in the way of your kneejerk reactions, it’s not like anyone notices or anything.
Point of fact, there’s nothing kneejerk about this. @pkbites has been consistent about his despicable opinions where killing kids are concerned.

Even if they only have a couple of revolvers on them they could gun down 6 people with each before needing to reload. That’s no answer either
Alright then… so we should ban the revolvers too?
No? Then shut the fuck up and support the rest of sane America in banning the mass-killing machines so you can keep your .22. Otherwise it’s all going to have to go.

You can easily find out that a bolt action rifle can be fired almost as fast as a semi-automatic rifle. The psycho in Uvalde would have needed to practice to be able to do that. It does look like some of these sick pieces of shit spent significant time in preparation though.
It’s not like it really matters though. Do you know how many similar guns are in the hands of people now who will not follow any regulation of the guns they already possess. Even if we come to take their guns we’ll find out thousands of them have been lost or stolen, yet they will be readily available on the black market. This particular black market can be found at any gun show already.
Same old bullshit excuses. All in service of the status quo…dead kids.
Knowing who is telling the truth about the cost of these guns is important. It has been reported that he told his sister about this and she refused to help him. Possibly she told others or he did. What he told them about the money and any participation by those people could be very important. Getting to the truth of the matter is very important for all the residents of that town.
We are in the Pit. Do NOT drag me into any of your disputes or disagreements. You are NOT my friend and I will NOT back you up no matter how much I agree with you. This is YOUR fault, you chose to attack a friend and turned her into an enemy. If this is how you treat people on your side, I’ll bet you are really convincing when debating with an enemy.

Damn, I shoulda posted what I was thinking about posting about bolt actions and “mad minutes”…

What the hell are you talking about? I’m telling you why we need to take real steps that will produce results instead of feeding the stupid political battle. At the moment the fucking Republican party has announced they are putting the kibosh on raising the minimum age required to buy assault weapons, about the least that could be done towards getting rid of this problem.
Maybe you should stick to GD then. I’m pretty much firing on anyone who defends these fucking gun sellers, gun defenders and excuse makers. I do not give a fuck any more. Us lefties have been measured in our critiques of the right for so long and it’s doing no fucking good. You give comfort to anyone in favor of child killing, you’re part of the problem. Deal with it.
